On a lot of answers given here, to even the big fundemental questions regarding christianity - (even christians will admit) we see christians come up with entirely differening answers and opinions..to the same question.

Are most of the answers based on what you "want" to believe christianity is?

And is the relgious section - only all about what people "want" and desire to believe about they're religion, or jesus is true?

If religion is entirely subjective - what is the point of answering reasonable well thought out questions - only with what you "want" to believe to be true, and do you think your desire to extol what you want to be "true" about your religion is a convincing or rational viewpoint?

Well, we do get treated unfairly on this, you know. We call Jesus God and people complain. We tell people that the Bible is the word of God, and people complain. We are constantly writing about Jesus being in our lives, and people complain and ridicule. So make up your mind! lol

If you have a question as to the validity of what a Christian believes, go to the source. We point to Jesus as our spiritual leard ( at least Protestants do) , and we point to the Bible as the text for testing what it is that we believe. So ask Jesus, and consult the Bible, and you will have an answer. Not because we say something about something, but because we claim those places are the sources for what we believe.

I mean, come on! We tell you the same things on certain issues. Sure we have different things to say on certain issues. We have the ability to make assumptions based upon tradition, self orientation, scriptural exegesis, life's experiences, etc. Anywhere there can be disagreement, disagreement is found. But on the matters of importance, Jesus is the center and the Bible is the text. So there you go.

Good question, there are so many christian sects today, and they all choose to belong to one or the other because it suits them, and they want to believe what that christian sect emphases. Everyone needs a compass and mine is the Catholic church, which has been around from the beginning, and has evolved over time, rather like an acorn which grows into an oak tree. There are many things in my faith which are difficult, and maybe not popular, but they can be overcome. I choose to believe because for me it is the truth, and we cannot compromise on the truth. We are not all one, although we all believe as Christians in the same God. Maybe that was Henry's fault!

Its not a matter of what I WANT to believe. Some parts of Christianity I want to believe, and some I dont want to. For example, I dont WANT to believe in Hell. But I have to, because Jesus taught it. (In fact He spoke more about Hell than He did about Heaven.) I would LIKE to believe that eventually ALL sincere religious good people would go to Heaven. But the Bible teaches that being sincere is not enough. You have to believe in TRUTH. And only Jesus said that "I am the Truth". So, its NOT a matter of what I WANT, but what the Bible clearly teaches. As far as Christians coming up with "different" answers, many times they are just looking at the "question" from a different point of view. And many times the question itself is a matter of speculation (if the Bible isnt clear, or is silent altogether on a particular subject.) And of course, not everyone on Yahoo Answers who say they are a Christian, actually is one. There are many people on this site who think they are a Christian but actually deny an "Essential Doctrine". (an Essential Doctrine is a Doctrine that MUST be believed if one is actually TO BE a Christian). Such as, Jesus is God in Human Flesh, or His BODILY resurrection from the dead, or Salvation by Grace ALONE through Faith ALONE. Many other doctrines there may be legitimate differences of opinions of. But to deny an Essential Doctrine is to, in effect, deny the Faith. And hence, you are NOT a Christian, no matter how much you believe you are one......theBerean

to me religion or christianlty is alot of made man rules, how they think how they believe, I am not into either I am more into what the Word says, how I feel and what I feel...what I believe in is God not regilion or christiantly..don't think they have much to do with how God really is, or what God is really saying to us...people have changes it around so much of what they want or what they think or what they feel and pretty much left out GOD of everything..thats is why everyone christian should get a personal relationship with God, He will never leave you without...If you just give Him the chance in you life...
