I am an American citizen. My fiance is British. We are getting married in the US in September. I've just sent in the I-129F Petition for Alien Fiance. My questions are:

1) How long does the processing normally take for this form?
2) How will they notify us that this has been accepted/approved?
3) Do we have to wait till we hear that the I-129F Petition for Alien Fiance has been approved before my fiance can apply for his VISA?
4) On average, how long will it take for his VISA to be approved? Are we talking weeks or months?

Thanks for your help.

So would he have an interview before sending in the VISA application or would he take the application with him to the interview?

Your answers can't be precise, but here is the average ...
1. 2-6 months
2. Your fiance will be notified by the nearest US embassy or consulate that they have the approved petition
3. The petition must be approved and delivered to the embassy before the fiance can apply
4. Once the petition is received, it can take a few weeks to schedule the interview appointment - this length of time also depends on how long it takes for your fiance to gather all the documents needed. If the interview is successful, the visa is usually issued within a day or so.

Good luck!
