hi need advise, what is the best car to get with family of 4 and 1 labrador, there is so many on the market and not sure what car is best estate or 4x4 .......

definately an estate...volvo, mondeo - then the dog can have his own section..! dont get a 4 x 4...you will pay through the nose for the tax and you'll get ripped of when you want a repair. estates are nice family cars!

Below is a complete list of all the car manufacturers. Best thing to do is look at the websites for all of these manufacturers and see what you like! Don't just go on word of mouth from others: find something that you really like and that suits your needs.
Personally, I think either an estate or 4x4 would be a good choice. I'd personally go for a 4x4 because I think they are just that little bit cooler! When I was a child, I would have loved it if my mom had a 4x4. We only had a Metro :-)
Obviously it also comes down to what you can afford. Estates will probably be cheaper than 4x4s. You'll also want to do a test drive before you decide, as you need to make sure you are comfortable with the the height and size of a 4x4, or the length of an estate.
Just have a look around on the net and see what takes your fancy!

The Subaru Forester is a very reliable spacious car. It is like an estate in appearence but has the advantage of being 4x4 so it is good on rough ground. It would be plenty big enough for a family and dog too. (depending on how productive you have been of course!)

An estate car would seat the family, and allow space for a dog crate in the back. Thats safest in case of an accident. Its also more comfortable if your dog baths in mud on a walk! Plus you'll have space left for all the picnic gear but the dog won;'t be able to eat it before you get there, or lie on it on the way homw.

AS for a family of 4 as you said theres loads on the market always thought focus s look good as for car for a labrador not sure if they make cars for dogs yet lol :)

Whichever fits your budget.
If sitting on the side of the road with the family of 4 and 1 labrador in the middle of nowhere waiting for a tow truck is your vision of fun - get a ford, chevy, chrysler, volvo, vw, rover...

Ok, that's an ordinary sized-family, not a big one. Go for the Estate - lower emissions are easier to find, which will impact both your fuel economy (and your petrol bill), and your road tax. Also, they are safer for pedestrians, usually score higher on NCAP, and generally have more room for the dog in the back! Plus, it won't be too tall for him to get into.

i think the best would be either an ex-cab truck or crew cab. if u r lokkin for milage then go for like an s-10. looks and all is up to u. with a dog and maybe u go camping, then i would definately get a 4x4.
