If it's so bad, why do you never see victims in the ER? Alcohol kills around 400,000 anually, yet that's OK?
It has been researched for the past 50 years with no conclusion that it's bad for you. The JAMA did have a report of heart troubles, but I think McDonalds would kill you quicker.
And before you say it, it is no more gateway drug than cigarettes or alcohol. I've met coke addicts who have never tried it once. Now cocaine, that kills! And alcohol was their gateway drug BTW.

Old Fuzz. All drugs are bad? Like all cops are bad? Ok, why is pot bad? You still havn't substantiated your point. To find someone in a snowbank says nothing, plenty of clean and sober people die in their cars caught in blizzards. Argueably, the abuse of ANYTHING is detrimental to your health; but that's not the question. Make your case, like you did in court. Give me the proof.

No, people whom use marijuana are more likely to go to sleep and wake up refreshed in the morning than die from more than "one toke over the road." Same thing seems to apply from smoking opium, as it's the forgetting to eat which "thins" out the opium dens denizens. There is a miniscule risk in indiscriminantly using marijuana as some folks just are not equipped to handle its effects and I have seen more than one ER visit from too many "felony cookies" containing cannibis sativa. Bear in mind these occurences are so few and far between they don't even appear in the usual plus or minus 3% in the statistics roles and I have had 50 years experience myself in the drug world as a user and a co-founder of an innovative drug rehab program and "street" advisor in Eastern US.
The idea of "Gateway Drugs" is pure "Felgercarb" or BU--SH-- expressed in modern political terms. Drug abuse has been mistakenly coupled with politics for too many years when it is more realistically a social breakdown. Chocolate cake can be considered as dangerous a health threat as cocaine or heroin if used in excess and the addictive personality is going to begin with whatever is conveniently available, be it pot, junk or the more white collar coke. Is XTC or a Hershey Bar a gateway or can one reasonably fault the attractiveness of pizza over carrot sticks?
There is just as much money in the "rehab" industry as there is in selling dope, thanks to various US political regimes. The Columbia drug lords probably donate to various charitable organizations as they do over here in the US just for public relations and to keep the supply and demand business going on far longer than it should until the people get wise.

Every drug does have some harmful effect. The question wheather the side effects are more damaging then its beneficial value. From what I understand pot, does have negative effects on the lungs, on the brain, and the heart.
but so does a number of other legal drugs also have the siminlar negative effects. I never head of anyone ODing on pure marajuana, but I've heard people ODing on pot laced with other drugs or pot where the orgins are unknowen. To be sure of the orgins of you pot, it woul be wise to grow it yourself.

I'm not advocateing any illegal activity.

There are plenty of victims in the ER due to marijuana, but since most drug users have more than one drug in their system, you can't point the finger at marijuana alone. Marijuana impairs your judgement, your ability to judge distance and your cuts down your reaction time... all of which can cause you to have a car wreck or accident.

Your second health claim of "no conclusion" that it's bad for you... any substance inhaled into the lung (other than aerosol medicines prescribed by a Dr) are bad for you. They cause lung irritation... then scar tissue when the lung heals from the irritation. Any inhaled substance, be it smoked, powder, chemicals, etc... damages lung cells, and could possibly cause lung cancer. Look at Bob Marley... do you think it was a coincidence he died of lung cancer when he was in his 40's?

I'm not saying cigarettes or alcohol are any better than marijuana, they both cause much more harm than marijuana... but is that any kind of justification? And you do know that (whether or not you like it) marijuana is illegal, right? If you choose to buy pot, sell pot, possess pot, or smoke pot, take a little responsibility for yourself and stop trying pull statistics out of the air to make it some "harmless" substance.

Listen not to US Officials, they speak not truths. Reefer Madness, Drugs are Bad, etc, etc, blah, blah, blah, I never had sexual relations with, Theres weapons of Mass Destruction in, I personally never had any connection to their firings...
Marijuana is an herb that God created and is among ALL the herbs of the field. Scripture says, God gave man ALL the herbs of the field as meat , meat being nourishment.
Jesus said, all things are good in moderation. Connecting these two I see then that all herbs are good in moderation.
What is a moderate dose of Deadly nightshade? Well I would say that for some herbs just to put your tongue to them is the level of moderation needed in their consumption, grapes are good, but if you consumed 10 lbs of them a day, I dont think they would be good for long.
I would say a joint a day keeps the point away, over and above that your pressing the idiot button. So smoke but smoke moderately because to much of any good thing can be bad.
As for overdose, I dont think you can overdose even on sythetic THC the active drug in marijuana.

Na, Marijuana is not toxic enough to kill.

In the history of mankind no one has died from Marijuana. It is simply impossible.

I think they were testing rats or mice or something, and for an overdoes you would need to consume(or smoke) the equivalent of your bodywieght.

Worst thing that can happen is you pass out.

Looks like the conclusion is, ALL drugs are bad.

I've never found a dead guy, O.D. on marijuana. I have found them dead of exposure because they were too stoned to get out of a snow bank. I have found them dead in a car because they were just as impaired as any other drunk driver.
