I didn't have surgery to lose weight. I had the surgery because I had a bad hernia that caused my stomach to move up to my chest . Anyhow, two lapsescopic surgeries & I have lost most of my stomach. And they want to take the rest of my stomach out and fix my esphagus. I have horrible gerd & eating & swalling problems. I can't eat much at a time, it drives me crazy. I ended up in the ER this weekend with a tristed and blocked esphoagus and what is left of my stomach. Has anyone had this happen to them? How did U resolve it?

Wow, that's a tough situation. I will say that the feeding tube isnt so bad. My BF had 90% of his stomach and a third of his esophagus removed due to cancer. He was on a feeding tube for about 3 months, but continued to eat small meals throughout the day. After 3 months they were able to remove the tube and he could eat on his own. The tube wasnt too bad either. He'd use it right after supper when we were chilling out, and at lunch time. Otherwise he was free to do what he wanted. The tube is very small and can't be noticed under clothing. I would recommend getting a 2d opinion so you feel safe about your choice, but if the 2d opinion agrees w/your doc, then I'd go for it. Best of luck to you.

you need to be seen by a specialist right away! if your esophagus keeps getting blocked or twisted you know you could die! you really shouldn't be eating solid foods right now, you have got to be one miserable person right now (meaning not feeling well) they can insert a feeding tube through the belly button and this can always be reversed, right now you do not need to be putting anything in your mouth. I wish you all the luck with this I am really surprised that they did not admit you into the hospital for this. they may have to go in and lower you stomach some more. you didn't say when you had this surgery, if it is recent then you may have tried to eat too soon. Your story should be read by all these young people obsessed about losing weight! I don't think any of them would want to lose it the way you are going to ! even though you said your bi pass was do to medical problems you are still going to lose a lot of weight and you may not even have enough weight to lose, well I hope you get better soon, keep us informed how you are doing.
