I'd make an appointment to get her spayed before she does.
As with female humans, b*tches get their first heat at different ages, and not all of them at the 'normal' age. It can be hard to guess when she'll come into it. Your best bet is to ask her breeder when her mother and other related b*tches came into their first heat. Expect for her to go into her first heat somewhere around that age.

Our Golden Retriever came into season at approx 9 months old last April (she was born in August) and we thought she was a bit young really. I think its usually anything from 6 months to a year so don't panic just yet.

usually it is six months to a year, but one of my dogs didn't come into heat until she was a year and 3 or 4 months so it could be any day now. She will be swollen and more irritable to other dogs (if you have them).

She will come into heat around 9-13months. Signs of heat are swollen vulva, some blood maybe noticeable or you may notice her licking down below more often. You also notice some attention from the local male dogs.

most dogs have their first heat at 6 months sometimes they don't have their first heat until a year old depending on the breed, then it is every 6 months sometimes they don't bleed enough to tell and could still get out and get pregnant! sometimes their genitals just get swollen.

She could come into heat any time now. Do you know the health benefits of spaying before her first heat? they are great! Just search "health benefits of early spay"
