As the pumpkin is a fruit (developing from the ovary of the flower), it's whole purpose is for reproducing the species, and, yes, it contains seeds - as do all fruits.

You may get some variations of this question on your test. Just remember:
The flower ALWAYS appears before the fruit;
The stigma is part of the FEMALE parts of the flower, connected with the ovary, in which are the ovules (kind of like the egg cells in humans);
The anther is the MALE part of the flower which produces the pollen (kind of like the sperm in humans).

Therefore C and D must be wrong.

B can be true for certain plants which can self-pollinate but they must also have male and female parts, so if you have a plant for which you can say B is true, you have to say that A is also true for it. So B cannot be true for a plant unless A is also true.

A is the correct answer.
