certain hairsprays have a very high alcohol content (usually cheap, over the counter brands). this makes your hair dry and feel brittle, but as far as being BAD for your hair? i don't think so.
that brittle, sticky feeling means your either using a wet hairspray (usually comes in a pump form), or your using too much. try switching to an aerosol light or medium hold hairspray, hold the can about a foot away from you hair, and let the mist fall over your hair. spraying it directly on your hair will also make it really sticky.
if your wearing you hair up, you can use a harder hold, because you really dont want it to move that much. when wearing your hair down, you want it to stay in place but you dont want it to look plastered, either.
there's a few new products that have a medium hold, but don't feel like anything is in your hair at all! if you're used to a regular hairspray, you might not like it, but they really are fabulous. Paul Mitchell Hold Me Tight, and I think sebastion might make one as well. they feel very natural in your hair, but do hold it as well. try one, see if it works for you.
but to answer your question, hairspray itself does not damage or give you split ends. combing through that hairspray at the end of the day could very possibly break it and damage it, but the hairspray itself? probably not

The importance of creating an appropriate hair style is often disregarded, but in fact it should not be so and there is no excuse for those who let their hair run rampant. It is an open secret that the range and the variety of hair styling products available nowadays is indeed , therefore, it is most certain that there is always an opportunity to choose one that will help deal with the bad hair day. Hair spray usage is also very common in the circles of hair design professionals.
The active hair spray ingredients make hair spray perfect to be used for the purpose of creating an impeccable hair style without snapping the hair. Hair spray ingredients that are represented by a suitable polymer and polyvinylpyrrolidine still are capable of preserving the natural bounce and the normal appearance of hair, unless the person wants to alter it purposefully. They have the texture and the chemical substance of liquid elastic which accounts for the manner of action it is used. Due to the specific character of hair spray ingredients it is a bit weaker in action than hair gel, but it has a number of advantages over other hair styling

It will cause build up as all hair products do(even your shampoo) so every couple months use a good cleansing shampoo like Nutragena (not sure if it is spelled right)for a week or so to get rid of build up on your hair.

technically particular mousse and hairspray is undesirable on your hair..it relies upon on how plenty you employ and how you wash it out of your hair in spite of the undeniable fact that. as for the cut up ends, with a view to make your hair greater healthy, one, you ought to shrink all your cut up ends off, 2, you ought to sustain with maintenance. once you wash your hair and towel dry it, do no longer wrap it up in a towel- merely scrunch it dry. you may blowdry it-warmth does harm hair as nicely-yet once you're very comfortable and don't smash your strands, it rather is going to help. the greater product on your hair, the greater it ought to break. i've got in my opinion used Redkin for remedies and it rather works nicely with my hair. you ought to locate out what variety of hair you have, and then use the appropriate products. merely be very comfortable with your hair and attempt to no longer smash your strands AFTER slicing off all cut up ends.
