Lately we have seen in the digest mode that words in spanish that use punctuations are changed to other characters and reading becomes quite difficult. Please advice what could be the problem.

If you're talking about it on your computer, you may want to check the language settings.

It happens when the original text is typed using the standard Spanish language keys but the printing is done with another type of system. The punctuations on the original text are not recognized and shows other characters.
This has happened to me a couple of times.

If you are adding them as ASKII characters then it should be fine. If you have speller set to check this could be changing your spelling.
