Good Q, which left me wondering the same, so i checked it out. Can you believe that they can keep individual pupil records for 25YEARS!
School log books are retained for 6years from last entry, The Admissions entry are retained for 6 years from last entry and the Class register is retained for 3 years from last entry.
So in other words once you/your child leaves school, your records are kept for a further 25 years! I dont think this is fair as children usually turn into different people once they become Adults and shouldn't be judged from how they behaved at school, unless it was very very odd behaviour.

My local secondary school STILL has the Registers, Exam Results etc from when it OPENED for the first time in the 1950s.

i think they keep em forever but i could be wrong my friends seems to think they get rid of em when you leave school
