A reciepe for the pav was found from NZ dating back 100years before it was known in Aus.
The lamington it is still being debated if it was Aus, NZ or Scotland that invented the lamington although it was supposedly named after a Baron/Lord in QLD.

The earliest known books containing the recipe for pavlova originated in New Zealand. Aussies are always trying to claim NZers things... Oh well just look at the Australian rugby team and you can see why they are not satisfied with their own!

I regret that an Australian (anon to me) was responsible for the lamington. I hate the bloody things.
The pavlova, named after the ballerina Anna P., is the most sickly sweet nothing-type invention I've ever tasted. I hope it was New Zealander - we've suffered enough here in Aus.
