Want to comment on some answers:
6 glasses of vodka!??????- that'll do no good, just add a new addiction to battle with, besides the answers-addiction
religion as part of everyday life - surely! But I felt I was missing the mark by spending too much time thinking, while there were things to do and people to care for

You can stop worrying any time. GOD is still on the throne and for HIM nothing is impossible. So trust HIM and relax.

Maggie, NOW! Stop worrying! It doesn't do you any good.
Seek the truth, rejoice when you find it and don't let it go, even if everyone tells you, you're wrong.
If there is no proof, concrete, then it's just speculation. Although evidences suggest that there are many truths, the only thing I can see as absolute is that I am.
Find your own truth, without letting anyone else tell you what to believe. What you perceive as logic, explore. Have confidence in your own theories. Most men have been brainwashed by thier social circles.
If thier is and I think there is, a supreme being, creator, He will understand the complexity of knowing truth absolute and forgive innoccent ignorrance or He will not be a fair creator and He will not be worth any kind of loyalty.

Hopefully never. Religion is not a passtime which we should shelve when we pursue normal life. Religion is the basis for our behaviour, the standard of our conduct, the fountain of our spiritual sustenance. It's something we should be concerned with every day. God wants us all to investigate the truth for ourselves and not be hindered by the dogmas and traditions of the past. We should seek that which is true and meaningful in life, even if it disagrees with our own personal opinions or predilections.
The devil is our own insistent self, our lower nature. Darkness is the absence of light, not a thing in itself. Evil is the absence of goodness, and does not itself exist. Therefore, there cannot exist any external evil entity to torture or confuse us. The only thing we have to keep watch over is our selfish passions and desires, which are fueled by our material inclinations. Giving in to them is "evil" for it is not good to do so, but God is All-Forgiving. He forgives even the most grievous of sins, so we just have to turn unto Him and pray for His forgiveness and He will forgive us. We should try our best to live His teachings in our lives, but we all fall short of the standard. It's about gradual improvement, always seeking the goal of perfection, even if perfection itself cannot be attained.

Maggie, it sounds like you are an insomniac. You must learn to turn your brain OFF so you can get some sleep. Seriously. Worrying all the time will shorten your life then you won't have any worries!

Both are a part of your mind. Your mind seems to be in disarray.. If you meditate you can hopefully find some stillness, and go about recognising what thoughts you have are productive and what ones are destructive. Embrace that which is good, discard that which is bad.

are you a believer? if you are then you shouldn't be worrying about none of that, the devil confuses people, he puts worry and fear in you..and yeah God may just be trying to get your attention, but He don't give you the worries that you speak of..pray and ask God..

when you recognize life is essentially short dream, we all are temporary passengers on the planet earth,
nothing can be serious cuz we within a short time die without exeption.
