I have a daughter who is 3, I'm black mixed and her father is white. She has mid-back length hair that is all over the place when she wakes up in the morning. Its a curly grade, not frizzy or "nappy" but it is still kind of dry. What I do is use a wide tooth comb and a little hair lotion like BB, its a really good brand for little kids, and a bit of spray on detangler like Just For Me. First I spray on the detangler, then comb from the ends of her hair and work my way through until all of the tangles are out. After that I put in the hair lotion and she has perfect spirals that need no more styling unless I choose to put her hair in a ponytail or two french braids. Don't wash it everyday, it'll dry it out, condition it instead, use an oil to seal in moisture while the hair is still wet, never use grease, anything with petroleum or mineral oil in it on the hair, it'll clog the follicles and cause heavy shedding. There are web sites on how to take care of black hair.

Use a detangler spray for little girls first (just for me products is great). Then you can comb her hair starting from the ends then to the roots, so you don't pull her hair out. If you know someone that can braid have her braided weekly and washed weekly. Try to stick with one hair care product (a child product). Use hair lotion also to keep her hair moistured. She can get all kinds of styles with braids that she can enjoy and you can get a braid spray. Just use that daily while she has braid. But don't keep her braids in too long. If you don't know anyone that braid hair look for a shop or if you see a little girl with her hair braided ask the mother. It's not harmful to ask if you are willing to pay her and she will understand your situation. Good luck!

Are you serious. Go to your salon or cosmetic store and ask for advice. Never comb the childs hair, hav you ever washed it for that matter. You shouldnt leave stuff like that hanging only because its hard to do. My son had long hair and i mean really long he had a ponytail up until his second birthday and i took care of it as it was my own.

Wash your hair and condition it everyday. This will make it softer and managable. A spray will also help if you decide not to wash or condition.
