Prema, why do you want to give her something which she does not want? My son is also 3 yrs old. My wife keeps doing this to him. Why do you mothers want to do this? I keep telling her to give him what he wants to have. It seems today she gave him curd rice with carrots mashed in it, and he made such a mess crying and yelling, she finally had to back off. Thank God I'm not at home during his afternoon meals!

Give her something she likes to have. She throws up because her body does not want it. Give her dosas or idlis. Try giving her pongal. If she does not like regular pongal, try chakkarapongal. My son loves cheese slices, so I keep giving him that. Try different stuff.

Let me give an explanation that might be more satisfying to hear. She has a gag reflex, and when she tastes something that is grotesk to her, this reflex kicks in. Unfortunately you are not going to be able to stop this gag reflex, I would try something else with the same nutritional benefits that is more to her likings.

I know you would like for her to eat healthier foods, but children have more taste buds than we do, and because of that, they have a high sense of taste and texture in the mouth and can only talorate so many different kinds of foods. Most children favor carbohydrates over anything. Keep offering the food that you want her to eat, and reward her in small amounts the foods that she does like after she has taken a bite of the one she does not like, even if she does throw it up.

You are doing fine as a mother, and what mother would would not want to have their child eat healthy, unfortunately theri little bodies are so different from ours.

Your daugher is machine. All machines are different. All need special mixture / oil for running. You never eat 100% items. I can bet that you refuse at least 10% items. Do not compell her to take curd rice. Curd and rice both are good.
My wife like tea. She never take meat. I never compel her to take meat. If I compel she will vomit. I can not practise her.
I want lassi. She force me to take tea. She complel me to take tea. She does not allow me to vomit. Should I practice tea or should be practice lassi?
I can give you Rs. 10000/- if you are ready to eat anything. I can give Rs. 10000/- to any body who is ready to give me desired food without vomiting. Why ladies force others (daughter / husband) to eat as per wish of preparator. Manchaha khao aur manchaha khane do. Be good mother. My wife always cook as per need / desire of her children. She learn taste of children.

Dont give her something she doesn't like. And if it is so important to you to make her have it then don't force her. Just tell her that food is ready and if she wants to eat she can come and eat it or else don't . This way she'll not feel forced and hunger will make her eat it. Personally I wouldn't make my daughter eat what she doesn't like. To get her the nutrition of the same I could try different combinations like this. Or add something which she likes into it and that might make her like it.

I don't really understand your question but if i'm right your asking how to make your kid eat rice curd without any dramas? If the kid is vomiting then don't give it, they obviously don't like it. How would you like having dogs pooh shoved in your mouth?

dear prema,

your daughter is 3 year old, now what you have to do is keep the food in a plate and keep some toys around and just act with her that the toys are eating your food. The main thing what you to do is you have divet the mind of the baby. and yourself act like a baby.

children at this age eat stuff that they like and push back the stuff that they don't like. Try different foods that offer simular nutrients. If she pushes it back two times she won't eat it. But do remember that children will like something for awhile and then get bored of it and will want something different.

Talk to your doctor or community health care worker in options that you can give your daughter.

i can tell u from my own experience, that no one can force a child to eat. there are many other dairy products like cheese, butter, milk, lassi, etc. that your child can choose from. what is important is that she takes the required amount of calcium ,the source is for her to choose. as for u, make the food that u want her to eat, very attractive and tempting. u could add fruits and nuts or veggies of her choice.good luck!
