If God made Adam and Eve to populate the Earth, how could they do it?? I mean, for example, Adam and Eve had um.. let's say 5 kids, both boys and girls. What then? A brother and a sister having babies? I don't think so. Today, when a brother and a sister, or a mother and a son... have babies, its almost always born with 3 legs, 1 eye..... Explain, please....

Because it's just mythology, Greek mythology, Roman mythology, Christian mythology, it makes for interesting reading, but you can't actually believe any of it.

OK I will answer this question because I have always been told the answer by my father and there are biblical scripture to back it up as well but I know I'll be ridiculed, oh well, you asked.

As I understand it Adam and Eve were not the only people on earth. Now in the beginning God made Adam and Eve in his image but he has no physical form, so what it means is that he gave them a soul. Animals don't have souls they don't go to heaven or hell, people do. Anyway In Genesis in two separate places it also mentions that there are "nephilin" in the world, and that the sons of man thought there daughters beautiful so they took them, and married them. (Gen 6) They weren't human technically, many theologians say that they were soulless people (there are many theories on exactly what they were but that is the simplest one.) That is who they married. Adam and Eve had Cain and Able first right? But when God exiles Cain after he kills his brother it says Cain took his wife. He was married, but at that point Adam and Eve had no daughters, at least it seems, and the only alternative are the "nephalim" that the bible mentions in the very next chapter. People often over look this explanation but really I think its the only valid one atleast for the first couple of offspring.

edit: Oh yes, and the reason why God wouldn't have just made more people is because they would have stayed in Eden, you see, Adam and Eve were the ones who sinned, why would God be so unjust to make other perfect beings and then cast them out of Eden when they had done nothing wrong? Just wouldn't have happend. God is Just.

I'm an atheist but I heard a couple of stories:

- before the Fall of Man our DNA was 'perfect' whatever that means
- the Bible just mentions Adam and Eve, but God didn't have to stop creating humans after that
- we're all inbred monkeys

Adam was the first man and Eve was the first woman created by GOD. It is therefore probable that HE also created others, but these two were used in the bible because they were the first and demonstrated the power of GOD to create life.

1) They lived 900 years. 5 kids in 900 years?? Adam must have gone fishing a lot! They had hundreds of children and thousands of grand and great grandchildren.

2) The genetic pool was pure and free from defects. No birth defects, no inhibitions against incest because they were not necessary

Try to stay awake in Sunday School from now on.

Reread genisis, Kane was banished but got married. I think there were other people on the planet at the time and Adam and Eve were Gods chosen, Or you can believe god is all powerful and made Eve a baby maker, producing hundreds of kids, who in turn produced hundreds of kids until he (God) put a plug in it.
Some think the Bible is a jewish plot, created by stoners (hash smokers) to totally mess with the future. Hell just look at how the jews are in this life time, they seem hellbound to me, maybe they know the truth. But the bible has all the answers you seek you just have to read it, pray and ask for guidance!

God allowed it at the beginning in order to populate the earth. But a study of Scriptures reveals that later on when no longer necessary, it was prohibited.

I've asked this question before, according to the Christians, god supplied the extra genetic material needed to make healthy human beings through "magical god rays" or something.
