Let’s look briefly at what Paul wrote: “the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: ‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.’ Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?…For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom…” (I Corinthians 1:18-25) [Jesus essentially said the same thing: “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.” - Luke 10:21].

To those who don't understand the passage god is basically saying wisdom is ill begotten of men. To be wise is to challenge faith that is what the reference to "little kids" is about. Little kids don't question or have the wisdom to question.
Basically wise men are wise because they think and challenge. God doesn't like this.

Preachershoe your argument is a contradiction to what the basis of Christianity is. You say god taught to "love thy neighbor"? But then god will send his "enemies" to Hell for being free thinkers?
And jesus and god are one as you know. The holy trinity, I don't see how you can argue for Christianity with so much blatant contradictions.

How can a stupid person be wise? Look both of them up at dictionary.com
Therefore you are either saying all the people who don't believe are stupid or the whole concept of believing in something so unfounded is stupid. I think I'll take the latter.
(no offence either, just that being a fool is defined as being "silly or stupid")

the passage just tells how powerful GOD is...and how we human beings are a universe away from His greatness...

Basically what it's saying is that our ways are not necessarily God's ways. What the world and the worldly-oriented consider great wisdom and profound philosophy is so much vain posturing and foolishness to God. Sort of like a small child who thinks that everything he/she says is so great and wise, only to realize later in life all they didn't know at the time.
Also, he's saying that God's wisdom is not always revealed only to those who are considered learned and wise by the world's standards.
What Paul is saying is that all of man's wisdom, learning, knowledge, is nothing compared to the wisdom and knowledge God has. God is the true source.
"Inasmuch as we refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the true knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One,........."

wrong , it means when pride in your intelligence gets you to the point that you think you don't need or want a god ,it is at that time that your intelligence becomes dangerous /foolish. It is these kinds of people who followed Satan and all his wisdom. It doesn't mean all intelligent people will be thrown in the lake of fire. Just those who let their intelligence get in the way of their salvation. God does not object to knowledge or learning. He doesn't even mind when you are being inquiring. Satans mind makes Einsteins brain seem like a 1 day old infant. But compared to gods intellect Satan's brain is like 1 grain of sand against all the sand on earth. So i guess everything is relative. right? What needs to be debunked is your debunking. What is really is going to be ironic is when satan comes for five months before the real christ arives he will be saying he is christ. And all of a sudden all the atheists will suddenly believe in god and go whoring after Satan like he is god. And we won't have long to find out if that is what happens.

Paul was a follower of Jesus Christ and explained Jesus' teaching to others. Much (almost all) of Jesus' teaching is counter-intuitive. For example, Jesus said, "Love your enemies." He said, "It is better to give than receive." This is the opposite of our gut feeling. The message of the cross is to live a life of serving others. Most people serve themselves. Men (now as then) go to school to get a job to earn money to buy a lot of stuff and die with the most toys.
Jesus said that you don't need possessions. When they murdered Him, they divided His clothes. And basically that is all He owned- His clothes.
Western culture is obsessed with material possessions. We are depleting all the earth's resources and polluting the air, land, and sea. Meanwhile in our greed we are allowing millions upon millions in poor countries to starve and to die for the lack of simple medical care. It is in our power to help them, but we instead serve ourselves.
No, sir. I think that Jesus got it right and that Paul was good at explaining Jesus teaching. Christianity is not debunked.

To answer your "updated" question addressed to me-
Jesus' message of self-sacrifice does not contradict the message of Christianity. It IS the message of Christianity. Then you completely change the subject by ranting about Hell.
I will take that to mean that I have successfully answered your question. Christianity was not debunked by your "Question" and web link, so you feel the need to change the subject. If you want to talk about hell, please ask another question with that as the topic and we can discuss it there.
Paul was not saying, "Look everybody I'm a fool." He was saying that he was considered a fool for living a life of self-sacrifice in order to help other people.
If a person does not believe in GOD or an afterlife, then eat, drink, and be merry. You might as well treat other people as badly as you want if there is no GOD. If you have money and power then why not stomp on the poor to get more money? If there is no GOD then Paul was a fool.
Unfortunately for the atheists, there is a GOD who will judge the world.
In truth Paul was wise.

It means that the only wisdom that matters is the belief in Jesus. That is why it always says they say they are wise, but they are fools. Satan is a fool, but he is wise. It has nothing to do with not challenging the bible. God wants us to challenge the bible, because challenge only verifies its truth. The little children are the believers. We are Gods children, we know what the ones who claim to be wise do not understand.

I love these verses, I am sure you know what they mean so I won't bore you with an explanation you probably don't need or for that matter want since your link is to "debunking Christianity", but I think this is very true. Sometimes people get so wrapped up in intellectualism they forget the importance of faith. It doesn't mean that God doesn't want us to be Intelligent, but when we start doubting Him because of our Intelligence that can be a problem.

I did not understand a single phrase in that passage. Though I suppose I might if it was not 3 in the morning and if I had not been up since 5 yesterday morning. That's what I would make of that passage.

First and foremost, the entire crux of that ill-fated article is the gross assumption that their "combined strength" will be viewed by those who read it as "wisdom" or "reason". There is not enough space in this post to list the utterly fallacious and textual misinterpretations committed by the so-called "wise" ones wrote the article. I would love to debate every one of them in front of millions of people for no other "reason" than to expose them for the foolish asses that they truly are.

Yes, but reason is part of being a human being and is also a gift from God. If you don't have reason you would not even be able to accept revelation. You are confusing knowledge with reason here.
