About violence in Toronto and surroundings?

This recent weekend, I lost someone I knew.. Someone I grew up with..

He was murderered in his own apartment in Brampton just when he had just finished a party.

What hurts me is a lot is... That I lose so many in short period of time, but let's not dwell on that..

What I want to know.. Doesn't it make you sick to your stomach or even makes you tired, more tired in hearing about violence?

You may see the news about murdered victims, but when it's someone you know, it is like a brick hitting you.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Toronto and surroundings, but NOT the terrible weather nor violence.

I am sorry to hear another bad news. In Toronto there is always a chain of bad news, one after another.

What a great harm did this Multi-Culturism policy to Toronto.
It brought Money which is intention of Government, but it destroyed every other things that we had as Canadian.

Who is Who? We can never find out? There was a day that the Immigration to Canada was very hard and difficult; now pay Money and Get Canadian Passport.

YES it is true, I don't mean under desk Money 'Bribe' NO, now officially you can pay or deposit certain amount of money and get into Toronto faster than ever.

I am %100 positive that it would get worst, we can see always hiring more and more cops. But what they really do. I support Major's answer, it is the best answer with my choose.

There is just nothing wrong to Hate Toronto for all these serious crimes.

Where are all those member of Parliament to answer to the public?

Where are Mayor, Chief of Police, Attorney General, and chief Judges to answer to the Public?

We claim that we have Democracy in Canada, which is NOT true. Because in Democracy the Government, Ministers. Mayors and Judges are accountable and the are answering to the Public. Where is a proper answer? Don't talk, Don't write, Don't Complain and yet pay the highest TAXES and get to service whatsoever in return from Government. This is not Democracy. With all these newspapers we must come to Answer Yahoo and file our complaints!? Because they would not write the Truth. They don't want any news agency write that the Toronto has became the WWW CO "World Wide Webs of Criminal Organizations.

We pay Billions Dollars salaries of the servants of the justice system to protect us in front of crimes, and yet the rate of crimes is in the highest.

My condolences, I just moved out of Brampton last year, it had become too violent for my liking. I will wait for all the thumbs down I will get for this but here it goes. The violence here in T.O is by most part a racial issue. Blacks killing blacks and other "minorities" harming each other. It is a grass roots problem where they need to find pride in themselves and where they live. We in the community as a whole cannot help those who do not want to help themselves. Personal responsibility is the start. Lets hope we do not have another summer of the gun ahead of us.

The actual rate of violence in Toronto never has been reported by Toronto Police. Another serious problem is that all those serious criminals having links in the Toronto Police, Law Society of Upper Canada, and the Government; so they don't get charges. And even if a good cop charge a criminal; there are Thousands Lawyers ready to defend them and plea not guilty and do not let they get the jail terms.

We also need to see Toronto Police shows courage in fighting with crimes; not just sit and watch drivers. I have seen many constables who are afraid to approach to criminals.

POLICE must have courage and be able to fight with criminals WITHOUT using GUN.

That's why we as Air Force Officers have been trained to fight with criminals without using any kind of weapon.

The problem is that the Toronto Police is not charging the criminals as before. I think Mayor told them as the tourism business almost died in Toronto after SARS and 911.

However, knew Government policy not not charge the criminal that the Crimes Rate shows less than US Cities have caused serious problems as Media and Newspapers also in sudden have kept censorship in reporting the crimes;

As a result, those criminals now get chance of doing much more serious crimes like murder and rape.

I think the Public Safety and Public Health must be given much more credit than tourism. We all lost the love one in Toronto, and I hope Police take more serious action in Gun Control.

Your story is a sad one but violence happens everywhere. Our crime rate is relatively low compared to similar sized cities in the U.S. That being said, violence and crime always seems worse when it happens to you.

I am sorry for your loss, it's been all over the media.

However, you know there has to be a reason behind it. People don't just get killed in their apartment for no reason.
