If you somehow won $1 million dollars, would you...?

a) keep it for yourself
b) give it to you church
c) give it to a charity (if so, which one)

I'm just curious what religious people are most likely to do with their money. And whether they would, for instance, give it to a charity verses tithing it to their church. You can explain why do pick the one you do.

BTW, include your religion/lack of. I know this might be better in polls/surveys, but R & S has much more activity and the rest are pretty lame.

Also, as a 2nd Question, if you couldn't, for whatever reason, keep it, would you rather give it to church or give it to charity?

I'd keep most of it for myself and give some to reputable charities. I'd rather burn it then give it to the church. I just watched a story on Father Jim Jacobson who took money that people donated to the church and used it to pay for sex. I'm not paying for anyone to get laid. I don't believe in any of the organized religions. I consider myself Agnostic. If I couldn't keep any of the money I would give it all to charities and zero to the church. People like Haggard and Swaggart can pay for their own hookers and drugs.

Divide them equally according to needs before you give the money away. Don't do any donation hastily. Always look at what you will need or your family. Charity starts at home. You may donate to the church after your needs are met. When the church is financially strong it will know better what charity to give. Even if the money is kept for the use of the church, we can expect the consideration of more comfortable worshiping place for the congregation as the money can be used for this.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't use SOME of it for my own purposes. I don't think anyone would give every single cent away. That being said, I have no idea how I could spend all that money myself. I'm not really a big spender; I wouldn't just take it and go crazy buying everything imaginable. I would use some of it for college, a large portion to help out my family, and definitely some to charity.

If I won 1 million dollars I would give 450 000$ to charities and 450 000$ to church and because I dont have a house I would leave 100 000$ for my family because some of them don'y have a house. That way I would help everyone

First. I wouldn't give any to charities. I would start my own and put money into it. I wouldn't donate to churches because there are more corrupt people in church than you would think.

I'd give a bit to the local RSPCA shelter, but I would keep most of it. I'm not sure what it is like where you live, but here in Perth, $1,000,000 isn't that much. By the time you buy a house and a car and a bit of furniture it would be gone.

i'll keep it for myself. i will not give it to the church because im not religious. i might donate to a charity but i don't know which one yet. I'll try to invest and make more money so when i die, i'll donate most of my money to a charity.
