Sun Shines On The Righteous

2016-12-24 17:42:50 · answer #2 · answered by ? 4 · 0 0

It is right that the sun shines.

It shines and gives life to all living things - not just human beings.

It shines and does not discriminate - a good example.

NB - the sun is always shining above the clouds - even if man chooses to block it out by whatever means.

What the Bible actually says is that the sun shines on both the righteous and the unrighteous.

It's making the point that God is merciful.

Why do people always misquote this text, it's actually

Passage Matthew 5:45:
45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Meaning that God has no favourites, He loves us all.

brianinchina2003 is correct.

In Matthew 5:43-48, Jesus said:-

You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbour and hate your enemy.' But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

The sun is shining on me right now - so I must be righteous. Can you please tell that to all the Theists, who keep telling me what a miserable person an Atheist is?

Do you walk along the street and see random people in clouds of darkness?

The sun shines on everyone unless they're under a tree or in a cave or something. You don't have to believe in god to sit in light.
