I'm normally a very happy person. I realise that everyone has their off days, but my off days are scaring me. Growing up I was extremely suicidal. For the past 3ish years I haven't had a single suicidal thought until the other night when I felt like shooting myself. I'm quite concerned because this feeling hasn't left me. I've tried working out, sleeping, talking, blogging, and the feeling remains. Are there any suggestions as to what might help?

I have always tried to reject suicidal thoughts before they have a chance to elaborate. When I am losing that battle, the only thing that helps is sleep, sometimes 20 a day! I have been on medication that helps me, not as much as I had hoped, but enough...

Sometimes, my depression is situational. For some dumb reason, the LAST thing I think of is "let go and let God". That restores sanity, but even it requires sleep.

The scary depression is the one that comes out of seemingly nowhere, but that one is very likely to be helped by medication -- when you can find the right one!

I wish I had a better answer, but know you are not alone.

You might be suffering from clinical depression caused by the shortage of hormone Seratonin in the brain. It is a normal condition and can strike anyone, anytime and most often without warning.

The best cure would be to see your doctor or a shrink who'll prescribe Prozac or something similar. This drug helps restore Seratonin levels and corrects the secretion problems that your brain might be undergoing, if the drug is taken as prescribed and not used along side alcohol or other stimulants and depressants.

Also, you need to first find out exactly WHAT is depressing you and try get hold of that situation by finding what you can do, within your capabilities to tackle it.

Have SEX they say exercise creates endorphins and that what makes people happy. You could also try more than one person in bed this always seems to work for me.
