The few times I have been in jail you have a pay-phone in the common area or sometimes in the holding tank. You then can make collect calls. If someone you know is in there they will call back.

well first of all if u r in jail, they have certain times they can use the phone, plus at 3 o clock in the morning they r in there cells locked in, now if u got arrested and u r at the police station they will let u use there phone, now also if u have voicemail and u didnt answer then u will get a message, but if u r still unsure call that number back

cool your jets!

first off, it could be a drunkard dialing the wrong number late at night...
it could be someone in a different time zone mis-dialing a friend in your area code...

OR
if it IS someone in jail,
they can damned well wait till the morning!

they will get another chance to call
but most likely in the morning.

relax! even if someone's in jail, why lose sleep over it -- one night in jail is much more likely to teach someone a lesson than to injure them in any real way.

i'm not proud of it, but i've been in county a few times, and i can tell you from personal experience that the ''one phone call'' thing is a myth. maybe it was started in a movie.. who knows? go back to bed. if it's someone you know that's in bed, he'll call you back... unless someone else is available.

They get one phone call I think, then if nobody picks up
Butch takes them to the showers where he lets them use his private phone (while bent over and kissing his knees)

Is it family? Did you miss it? If the jailers are reasonable that person will have another go of it... My uncle has called us collect b4, multiple times untill we answered.
