I know its a muscle relaxant. Does liver metabolise it?

Thiocolchicoside (TCC) is used clinically for its muscle relaxant, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties, and it has been shown to interact with gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) type A receptors

Warnings and Precautions

Thiocolchicoside should not be used in patients with severe renal failure.

Effect on driving and operating machinery: Care should be exercised when driving and operating machinery.

Use in pregnancy: Pregnancy category is C. There are no adequate and well controlled studies in pregnant women. Since animal reproduction studies do not always reflect the human response, it should be used during pregnancy only when clearly needed. It should not be used during the 1. trimester of pregnancy.

Nursing mothers: Thiocolchicoside is excreted in human milk. It should not be used in nursing mothers.

Side effects / Adverse effects
Gastsrointestinal system side effects of gastralgia and diarrhea can be observed during thiocolchicoside administration. Although rarely, decrease in blood pressure, temporary loss of consciousness?? (blurred conscious) or excitation can be seen. During thiocolchicoside therapy, rash can develop in hypersensitive patiens.

Consult your doctor in case of an unexpected effect.
