Go to ww.taxact.com. When you are filing out the info there will be a question and you indicate that your mom claimed you and it will tell you what your refund will be before you actually file. It will be free to file your federal but if you file your state return they charge you a fee.

Yes, you need to file to get any reund that might be due. Since your Mom claimed you as a dependent, you can't use yourself for the personal exemption deduction. Whether you get a refund will depend on how much was withheld from your pay. If you or someone you know has Turbo Tax or some other tax software, it's easy to figure out.

Unless income tax was withheld from your pay, there is no need to file. It's not because your mom claimed you as a dependent, but because your income is below the filing requirement amount.

If income tax was withheld, you should file to have it refunded. If no income tax was withheld, there's nothing to refund and no need to file.

You should file a fomr 1040EZ and check the box that says your dependency has been release to another person. Since you made less than $ 5,150.00 all the federal income tax withheld will be refunded to you. You can go online to IRS.GOV and file your return free; or go to the post office or public library and get a form 1040EZ and paper file it. Put copy B of your form W-2 with your return. The instruction book you get with the form will tell you where to mail it.

Yes, you can and should file a 1040EZ. There's a space for "can someone else claim you as a dependent". You will get a refund of almost as much as you paid.

Yes you can. I've filed 4 times as a dependant. If you made less than $8000 you will get a return.

I don't think you will get anything. Your mother already claimed you.
