You guys asked for more details. I was raised Mormon but just turned Agnostic; however, the leaders/apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints claim to be 1st-hand witnesses of Jesus Christ; though, they don't get paid for what they do. Then, what could possibly be their motive?

Many are sincere in believing they are helping others, whether the facts they present are right or wrong. This is why even if I don't agree with the beliefs of some religious charities, I still respect the fact they are trying to help others and give whenever they are ringing the bell, holidays or not... :)

Power. No religious leader has a wallet. All their expenses are paid and they are well fed. Just look at how many are overweight.

Which kind of religious leader are you talking about? Because I know plenty who get paid.
And just because it's what they see as the truth doesn't mean it actually is the truth.
