Both...my husband has his set numbers and I either pick some from thin air or do a lucky dip...

The problem with doing set numbers each time is that you dare not not use them because it would be sods law that if you either didn't use them, or forgot to do the lottery, that those numbers would come up!

Personally, I play both. I have 5 sets of numbers that are mine, and I get 5 randoms each week. I know I don't have a fighting chance in hell on winning, but it makes me feel better when I feel like I have some kind of control in the 1 in 120,000,000 odds of winning!

Can't play "my" number because my birth year is no longer available. Believe it or not I get a horoscope online that gives me the new numbers each week. The person has helped other people win; it's just fun, really.

I play random selections from my own set of numbers. I never let the machine to pick the numbers.

family birthdays. Then I throw in some random picks. Figure I got more chance of getting drunk than I have of winning the lotto. Have u got a vacuum cleaner for sale? Stupid question. Random. The odds are the same.

If you have lucky numbers, it doesn't hurt to play them!
