Why not just him levitate if that is his thing. Why be scared if it a regular thing, just get a nights sleep and let him float away.

First check your own mental calm and detachment in observation. It is very probable that the levitation witnessed by you is the product of your own hallucinated mind. After doing that, engage the help of other colleagues in the hostel to photograph the room mate while asleep, with you holding the trigger mechanism under your control. In fact there is a chance for you to study paranormal phenomena, if you can ensure complete objectivity in following up this matter. Somnambulism and neutralization of gravitational force during certain states of mind are facts known but only to a select few, and the territory is slippery, with plenty of charlatans out to make a fast buck selling sensation, and the scientific investigation becomes a victim of the fraudulent ones.
If you are not into any scientific study , but are afraid for the safety of your friend, awakening him when he tries to rise up can be a help, but don't do it violently. In such delicate states of mind the spirit is not in total control of the body and the active mind is not, either.Using a wet hand to wipe his face is a safer option. There have been instances when the persons concerned have suffered irreparable mental damage as a result of violent awakening from such transient states of mind.

I'd say you should perform and exorcism while he's asleep. If that doesn't work you could always sleep on top of him. It would be like an air matress thats self heated. If all else fails stab him the heart with a wooden stake and then shoot him with a silver bullet. That'd have to work.

you should tie him to the bed posts. I recommend you leave your rommate as soon as possible. It is very annoying and you cannot have a good sleep.

Rent out his bed since you now have extra room for another roommate, at least at night.

Maybe he's Buddhist. Don't they levitate? In any case, I wouldn't worry about it. If he levitates to your side of the room, simply nudge him and tell him to float back to his side.

Take double sided tape and apply liberally to the affected area. Velcro will work as well.

Go to the nearest mental health clinic. Are you still smoking that stuff. I've warned you about that.
