Pups need to stay with mom and litter mates for 10-12 weeks. They learn dog stuff from being with mom and socialisation from each other.

Most pups are ready to be rehomed at around 8 weeks, this is only a rough guide. Make sure the pup is fully weaned and eating independantly. Pups start their vaccinations around 8-10weeks and some breeders prefer to give them the 1st jab prior to rehoming.

There is no hard & fast rule. It depends on the breed (smaller breeds tend to go later), the owner, the number of puppies in the litter. If there is a large litter, they are often better going earlier as there is no way even the best of breeders can give each puppy individual attention (and neither can mum). Good breeders can judge when a puppy is ready to go, obviously not before they are weaned).

8 weeks, or roughly 2 months. Anything less than that has a higher chance of the pup dying.

I once took a puppy into my home at 4 weeks of age,and although she lived until a fine old age, she missed out on that socialisation that puppies ger from their mothers ... and never got on with other dogs. I see most puppies over here for sale at 6 weeks of age, I guess thats because its when they are at their cutest, but no reputable breeder will let one go before 8 weeks of age.

The right age is 8-9weeks,breeders who let there puppy's go earlier are not really doing the right thing.A puppy who leaves the litter early can grow up to have behaviour problems and can also affect the way they interact with other dogs. The same if a puppy leaves a litter a litter later then 9weeks,they can have problems bonding with humans and there socilisation is behind aswell.

a pup should be at least eight weeks old before it is taken away from the litter if you separate them any earlier you risk 1 fretting the dog and two the dog doesn't learn social boundarIEs through play ie doesn't realise how hard hes playing biting eccettra and can turn into a snappy dog

my new pup came at 7 wks, as she was weaned off her mum who didnt go into the birthing bed anymore, but my other dog came when he was eight weeks old, some breeders like to hang on until 10 wks, personally i thionk 8/10 weeks is good as they have learnt everything from their siblings and parents.
