Do this just before you sit down to eat. Remember that most of the food on your table was pick, washed and packed by an undocumented worker.

I'd rather we did it ourselves, thank you...w/ machines even. Perhaps make all of our bratty spoiled high school kids do it, that way they could learn the value of a dollar. Oh, yes...and I will thank them for suppressing our wages too...oh, and taking the benefits that my family and I have payed into for years. Yeah--thanks a lot.

We can pray as we wish until the day we lose our religious freedoms along with all other freedoms provided by a rigorous and strong system of law. Permitting laws to be broken in one way, then another eventually leads to having no law at all.

As for most of the food being picked and washed by "undocumented workers" (read: lawbreakers systematically ignored by a govt sworn to uphold the law) .......
....
.......
..... You made that up, RIGHT???

A tiny fraction of our food is picked, washed and packed by ANY HUMAN HAND.....PERIOD!

Since the application of engines to farm machinery (first steam, later diesel & gas), less and less food has ever been touched by humans before reaching the store (where picky shoppers squeeze, coddle, sniff, sample, juggle them, etc).

And consider THIS: Countries whose economies are blowing the doors off the U.S. economy (namely Japan, Korea, parts of the EU, and others) can even pick berries and cabbage using .....
...
..... NANOTECHNOLOGY!!!!

You can call them Micro Agrobots.

The fact is this: the lifeblood of economies is EDUCATION!!!

Using cheap labor slows economies down!!

If we were to outlaw ALL manual labor in agriculture starting January 1st 2008, we'd see automated systems in place within 1 to 2 years. Till then, there'd be an irritating blip in prices. After that, prices would start to fall drastically! Soon, they'd be cheaper by far than they are now and our economy would enjoy the trickle down effect from more and more high-paid engineering positions.

Grow up, Carajo. You're insulting every illegal worker and prolonging their enslavement. If you want to do the RIGHT thing, tell Spanish-speaking countries to change their language and culture to that of a successful economy (again: Germany, Japan, Korea) and allow only college educated people to vote or have children.

Try that and get back with us once you've realized how much better life has become. For everyone!

Well, it's nice to be positive about this topic but to say it quite frankly, where is your social security going? Why should you pay taxes and the undocumented worker get a free ride while the U.S. gets more and more into debt. Not blaming it all on the undocumented worker. Thanks to the war and everything else, we shouldn't have to worry about the undocumented worker but we do. Sure they may do jobs no one else wants to do but who is going to benefit in the long run? Not you. Not this country if we still have a country in a few years.

The undocumented workers should say a prayer and give thanks to God that they are here, have a job, and haven't been caught yet. As for me, how do I know all food picked or handled on my table is done by illegals? Well, maybe the lettuce.......

prayer is a good thing...
praying for those who chose deceit and believe that they are above laws is a stretch...
If one wants the grace of GOD then that individual needs to develop their own relationship with GOD ..trying to get something off the backs of others even a prayer is just what.? another way to not take responsibility for ones actions and hope that someone else will "help" you??
I think God makes his own judgment based on what people chose to do,their arrogance and honesty and respect for themselves and others...

Sure I say a prayer before every meal and at bedtime and when I wake up in the morning. My prayer includes thanks for our great President, ask God to deliver us from evil and not let HRC be elected President. Pray that all Illegals be rounded up and deported before their spanish picking nasty hands kills us all. Amen.

Hmm, I think it would taste better knowing that it had been harvested by an American, like it was 15 years ago.
