I have a PC with duel boot running Vista and XP, both area clean installs, i formatted the hard drive and partitioned them both for an even split over Vista and XP,

My internet connecton while using XP is fast, fast as can be expected anyway (500+ kbps) but when i try and use Vista its like 1 - 30 kbps and this is downloading off some major websites. Whats vista doing to my connecton! Anyone got any ideas?

I like the idea of having vista,, but I am going to wait for about 6 months or so to see what problems there are with this new operating system,, by then hopefully all the bugs that people are experiencing would have been sorted out,,
anyway, why do you need two operating systems on the one computer,,,?
I know there might not been much in the way of vista ready software just yet, but then you must have known this when you brought the software,, I think that your computer is struggling to run the two operating systems at the same time,,OK I know you cant use the two at the same time but it is still there in the background, I hope you sort it out, good luck

How are you connected to the internet, Lan interface or USB.

If USB it is probably your ISP drivers are not that compatible.

If Lan goto your motherboards manufactures site and download the latest LAN driver and install.

Try and use a LAN interface if possible allways quicker. Check your firewall configuration, ensure you only have one firewall on.

I am using Vista/XP dual boot and have had very little problems so far. All the people that say it not very good, need to remember everybody said the same thing about XP when it first hit the shelves, look at home many fixes that has needed to get it stable.

My friend, take note of the above comments, stick with XP, vista is still riddled with problems.

Try this link below and it will tell you the speed it runs at and compare the two readings (XP v Vista).

Good luck.
