what does the restaurant specialise in, i.e. steak house, seafood etc,
you should go for something different but still in keeping with your type of restaurant, e.g. if steak house - order in some kangaroo and crockodile and emu meat and have an Aussie night, if seafood perhaps have a Chinese night with all your dishes chinese but using seafood or perhaps an English fish and chips night serving in newspaper, the thoughts are numerous along this line. If it is a Chinese restaurant - have a traditional New Orleans night with Hot Gumbo etc, an italian restaurant can go for ancient Roman recipies, I found some on the net
good luck and have a great anniversary night

Raffles, drawings, give aways,(free dinners)Give yourself & employees a birthday party & hang a big banner on the front of the restaurant.
Create a new dinner dish and let customers have a chance to name it for you by your staff & you picking the best name. Add their first name to the name they pick)Cathys Cajun Chicken Kabobs.
You can do the same thing in the bar, create a new drink- or several-have the customers pick the best one & name it for you.
Get them involved & they will return.
Offer a free birthday dinner for the customers that enter for a free birthday dinner(not many eat alone on birthdays)
Have fun with it.

Try and run some specials around "8", could be the price, $8.88, or maybe the number served, like 8 egg rolls, or 8 mozzarella sticks......talk to your liquor distributors and see if they can donate stuff to raffle off....or just give away to every 8th customer....they always have stuff like t-shirts, glasses....just have fun with it....
