This is about a girl I've been friends with for almost 2 years.
She was away at school for 6 months, and came back, but I've been getting mixed signals. She calls me things like "hot stuff", "sexy", etc., flirts with me at work, I'm at her place often enough, and when she was away, she definitely showed very obvious interest in me...
But since she's come back, when we're alone, I completely get the cold shoulder, especially when I get too close.
Is this a "calm before the storm" type thing, or her trying to limit our relationship?
Thanks in advance. I really suck at life.

honestly...it sound too me like when she was gone...you were her someone to fall back on at home, no matter what was going on in her life at school.
now thats she's back, maybe she doesn't "need" you like that.

? seen any other girls. Mixed signals could be from you reading them wrong. If she is the only girl you have been inter-reacting with than ahhh you need to quit limiting yourself. Need different input to compare with see another girl. Your relationship sounds more like a friend not a lover.....

Have you taken her on a date? Why don't you ask her out to dinner or something. Maybe being in a romantic setting rather than work, or her house will cause her to act in a different way and will perhaps make her intentions more clear. She does sound pretty confusing though....best of luck to you.

You don't suck at life, but she may be limiting the relationship. Give it a little time, if she continues to act aloof, then likely she isn't interested. ....and if she likes you, well then, she likes you...a girl will definitely let you know when she's interested, trust me.

well first off you need better self esteem. secondly, im sorry to say that she is probably limiting your relationship. i think before she felt like you two were platonic and you didn't have romantic feelings for her, now maybe she realizes your behavior and is acting against it to save both of you the awkwardness.

Hmm....seems like she wants the romance flame to be out. Ask her what's wrong....and if she still gives you the "cold" shoulder, it's time to pack up your stuff and find someone who would appreciate you.

She's changed her mind-she has either met someone else or doesn't like you anymore-it's that simple-it's one or the other.
