Is that a bad type of medicine to take, because it's addicting?

If it was take as prescribed then there is little to worry about. I am surprised she was prescribed Tylenol #3 for the pain associated with gallstones. Typically a stronger medication is prescribed....

that's actually a very weak pain killer, it's barely prescription strength. there's not much chance of her becoming addicted to it. You would have to take so much of it to get addicted to the codeine that your liver would shut down due to too much tylenol, I'm talking fistfulls and fistfulls of pills, you would die from too much tylenol before you could get enough codeine to become PHYSICALLY addicted to it... now you can become MENTALLY addicted to just about anything, you could be considered mentally addicted to fruit loops if you get upset when you don't get to eat them in the morning.

If they prescribed you a medicine for pain, and you have pain, you shouldn't be afraid to take the medicine because you perceive it as "bad".... medicine is inherintely neither bad nor good, only how you use it is. If you use it responsibley, it'can be a good tool.

its what they give me, i take one every morning though i was told i can take two every six hours, i just dont do it, im getting used to living with the pain.
