Forget all anything diets. If you use more calories than you consume, you will create a caloric deficit. Theoretically you can eat a candy bar every day and still lose weight as long as you still have a caloric deficit. However, the goal is to lose weight the most efficient way possible, without feeling sick or hungry, and without harming yourself.
You want to eat a balanced diet which is low in fat. Generally you don't want a meal to have more than 7 grams of fat. Have as many vegetables as you want (other than corn and carrots), in fact, do include a generous serving of them. Eat them first, they'll help fill you up.
Avoid too many simple carbohdrates and try to eat things with more complex than not carbohydrates. Have a serving of protein with each meal. Low fat cottage cheese is good, but go easy on the yogurt, it has a lot of sugar. Meat should be limited to chicken and turkey (white meat only) and certain types of fish.
Avoid cream sauces, limit creamy salad dressings and mayonaisse, and use a light vegetable spread, such as "Smar Choice" instead of butter. Use as many seasonings as you like.
Basically if you do what body builders call "eating clean", and combine that with a long walk a few times a week, or trips to the gym, and limit your caloric intake to around 1200 calories a day (and no less!) you will lose weight without feeling hungry....you may feel hungry for the first week or two if you had overeaten and stretched your stomach though.
Soy burgers are good too.

I would definitely say NOT to go along with 'fad' diets, like the cottage cheese, grapefruit, peanut butter, or hot dog diets. They are not healthy eating habits, and are not necessarily good for your body. You want to find something that is a healthy diet for life - not something that will help you lose 5 pounds that you will regain when you go off of the diet.
What you need to do is to avoid processed foods (anything canned, pre-prepared frozen meals, anything in a box - frozen veggies are OK, as long as they do not have sauces or butter). These types of foods are loaded with chemicals and preservatives - not all that healthy for your body.
Cut your caloric intake to about 1200-1500 calories per day. Make sure that the calories that you are taking in come from good food sources - fresh fruits and veggies, whole grain breads and cereals, lean meats, fish. Avoid sugary stuff, processed grains (like white rice and white bread). Cheeses are good, but make sure that you are snacking on real cheese and go ahead with the full fat kind of cheese - it has more flavor and less chemicals. Drink at least 8 cups of water per day (64 ounces). Drink water, tea, lemon water instead of soda. Try to drink your tea without sugar if you can. If you cannot drink your tea without sugar, gradually decrease the amount of sugar that you use until you can drink it without.
And exercise. I know that sometimes it is hard to find the time in the day, but do things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator. Park in the farthest parking space from the office or from the store and walk.
A friend of mine went to a certified dietitian to get a good foundation for her eating habits. A person like that can evaluate your diet and weight loss needs, your lifestyle, your food likes/dislikes, and come up with an eating plan that you can stick with for the rest of your life.
Good luck to you!!!

basically stay away from prepackaged foods. Fruits and vegetables are always a good idea. Drink water instead of fruit juice or soda. Try and eat 5 or 6 small healthy meals throughout the day to keep the metabolism going... and you have to exercise. No exercise, no weight loss. If you don't exercise at all then the weight you lose will all come back eventually.

Hi.
You should avoid these strange diets that are in fashion now. Just eat something from the basic food groups every day. You should also do some training as that will raise your base metabolism and make it easier for you to loose weight.
It will take you a little time to figure out how much you need to eat to loose weight and make sure you give yourself enough time. It is not realistic to expect to loose 10 pounds per week, give it time. In this there are no shortcuts, only the right way and the right way always works if you do it right and give it time.
Hope this helped.

just eat healthy. counting your calories and exercise might also help. remember that foods with protein and fiber will fill you up longer than sugar and starches. don't try to put yourself on a strict diet, try to make it your lifestyle.
