My cat had 2 kittens on 3-26(last one born at 4pm).She had them on my bed under my blanket.I changed the bedding and washed the matress the best I could around 8pm that night and flipped the matress over. When I did all this I put the mother cat and her 2 kittens in the closet. When I remade the bed and went to bed at 2am she brought the kittens out of the closet and put them on me all night. She had them on my chest, belly and legs and under the blanket. On 3-27 I had to go to the store.I locked her and the kittens(I hated to do this) in the closet because the kittens kept crawling close to the edge of the bed.Came home and she had 2 more kittens that she just gave birth to.She kept trying to put those kittens(the 2 new ones) on my lap.Everytime I go into my room she comes out of the closet with a kitten in her mouth and if I get near the bed she puts the kitten on my bed and goes to get another one.I never knew a cat to be like this.

Is there any chance she has anymore kittens in her and why does she want me to have her kittens? She wil get spayed when these kittens are gone for those who will want to complain that she had a litter and also look at my question about her from a week or so ago and you will understand why she got pregnant.

Her first litter I guess? Remember she has been thru alot and she's not sure about whats next so she may be a little unsure.
Try wearing an old shirt for a while just to get your smell on it.
Then make the new family a place in a corner of the room so she can see you.
Then put your shirt on her new bed and put the family there. Next lay down beside her and let her know everything's OK.
Odds are after you spend some time on the floor with them she will settle down.

I have had cats do this before. She is just showing you her babies. It is a good thing not a bad one.It means she trusts you with them. She know you will not hurt them. You have to slowly try to get her adjusted to the idea of the kittens being in the closet.Don't close them off in there or she won't want them to stay in there. You might try sitting with her for a little while every night before you go to bed.Pet both her and the kittens while they lay in their box or what ever their bed is made from. She is probably scared especially if this is her first batch. She just wants her mom to help her.You can't blame her a lot of us human new moms run to our moms to show us what to do with our newborns.Good luck with the babies.

I would check with your vet just to be sure she is finished with birthing.

As for her giving your kittens to you, I would make her a bed where she can see you. Spend tons of time with her and give her lots of love and reassurance and enjoy the sweet kittens. When I was little we had a dog who when she had puppies would bring them to my mom or dad. I think it must mean she trusts you very much.

have you ever allowed her to be on your bed? if you have that could explain it.

some new mothers dont want anyone touching the kittens.. others appreciate surrogate mothers, so that could be why she's handing her kittens to you. its not too odd. people like to hold and cuddle kittens anyway.

try giving her some clothing or portion of blanket that you have used. give her a box big enough for her to stretch out in.. to put her kittens in. and keep her out of your bedroom.

That's unusual that she keeps trying to give you the kittens. i guess how long you have had the mama cat and her behavior before having kittens would factor in to how she is behaving now.

She's probably just proud of them and wants you to see them and accept them. I would call the vet about the length of the birthing process to make sure everything is normal....

I don't know why she does this, but I would do the following:
Praise her and pet her for being a mother, and make sure she breastfeeds them all right.
