My sister-in-law can't stand poop. She's the cleanest freak in the world but won't clean the toilet. (she makes her husband do it, she'll clean the whole house)
She wants to have a baby, but is willing to let the baby sit in poop until her husband comes home from work. I told her that she'd never let your baby sit in poop for hours on end and don't dare call me just to change for her. In hopes to desensitize her, I've changed my daughters messiest diapers, even leakages in front of her when I can. Breastfed baby poo isn't that bad...but she's still grossed out. It's worse now that my kids on veggies though.
I want to tell her if she's not willing to change the poo, she shouldn't have a baby. However, it's not my life. Should I just impose my opinion and just stay out of it? My brother in law agrees that no baby should sit in poo and wants her to change when needed.
The most annoying thing is that she cleans up her toy dog's poop and that thing poos everywhere.

Just let her know that there is no difference between baby poo and dog poo. I would also be sure to let her know how bad of a rash the baby would get by her not changing the baby immediately. Try to find some pictures and show her how the baby can actually bleed from the rash. Explain to her how badly this would hurt the baby and how much they would cry from this pain. Also be sure to let her know that it could endanger the babies health because if the baby has a rash bad enough to bleed, then the bacteria from the poo could enter the babies blood stream and make him/her very ill!
It sounds to me like she is to immature and selfish to have a baby - but that is just my opinion. I can't understand how some one would rather hurt a baby and listen to them cry than change a poo diaper! Tell her to grow up!

I think it's pretty obvious she's saying these things for attention of some sort. Once she is actually pregnant and then delivers her child I seriously doubt she will follow through with her outlandish comments. Before you become a parent you are afforded the luxury of making random comments about what you would or wouldn't do if you were the parent. But when you are in the hot seat, it becomes quite a different story.
I don't think you *need* to say anything specifically to her. But you don't need to bite your tongue either. If you feel you must say something... just leave it at something like, "You'll feel differently when you have a child." Giving her any more than that will just give her the ammo she's looking for to defend her ignorance.
All the best!

If she can clean up dog poo, she can bloody well do the same for her flesh and blood. It is unsanitary, if not downright cruelty, to let a baby sit with a poopy diaper. Tell her to rub vicks vap-o-rub under her nose before she changes the baby. You are very right to be concerned!

Let her know your opinion and give her information on how bad a baby can get a rash and make the baby very unsettled.
Remind her of how she cleans after the dog, which is worse then a baby anyway.

I think you should give her your opinion. As a mother and a dog owner, I would rather change a diaper any day. You need to let her know that by letting a baby sit in a dirty diaper, it can cause not only a fussy baby, but also UTIs (urinary tract infections), which can lead to kidney damage.

Don't worry, once she leaves the bub for more than ten minutes, the smell alone will force her to clean it up. Otherwise it just gets worse and worse, then it won't just be the bub that stinks, but the whole house. She'll learn pretty quickly!
