Hi,
Hi,
this was posted a few days ago, but some things were left out. we are having a baby in 5 and 1/2 months and can not agree on any names. We are not too sure if its a boy or a girl. Please give us your opinions. Leland can NOT be a first name for a boy, as that is my son's name, however id like to have his name in there somewhere.
Thanks.
Girls:
Naikara Angaleq (pronounced Nay Kara, Angelique)
Nevaeh Angaleq / or Margaret (pronounced neh-VAY-ah Angelique)
Boy:
Duane Leland Blaine
Dakota Leland
Cobie Blaine (pronounced Co Bee)
Blaine Dakota

First off, you must be ecstatic. I know my sister was.
Girl- Naikara Angaleq (pronounced Nay Kara, Angelique)
This is very unique. I like it and I like that you included the pronunciations for reference.
Boy- Duane Leland (without Blaine- because of the rhyming issue, unless that's what you intended)
Boy second choice- Cobie Blaine (pronounced Co Bee) This one would be better if you wanted Blaine included.

The girls names sound kind of like African countries. Just a little heads up on that one. The boys names are all cute separately, but together they don't flow. COBIE BLAKE sounds better than Blaine. Blaine makes me think of plain. what about Dakota Blake?

Hi
Firstly maybe you should think on what you want the name to stress/identify with.
Do you belong to a particular religion - Christian, Jewish etc.?
Do you have particular ethnic background/roots - Native American, German etc?
Or is there some new direction you are going in your lives you wish to identify with?
Also it is sometimes interesting to look at your family tree and the names used in the last few generations - some are becoming popular again and some were unusual and are really worth reviving.
Good luck and I'm sure you will just now when the right name comes along - it will just feel right.

I like Duane Leland or Duane Blaine but it all depends on your last name. I think you should pick ONE name you like and let the hubby pick ONE name he likes nad put it together from there. For the girl's names I'd choose something a little easier to spell because for the longest time my name was pronounced (Tiff-a-Nah) Just becasue it's spelt Tiffaney. Also my name was Tiff or iffaney until I was 6 LOL. Good luck and congrats.

I'd say none of the above! You don't want your child to be tortured by other children do you? Go with something a little simpler to pronounce and spell.
Make a list of your favorite names. Have your husband make a list of his favorite names. Compare the lists and see if you both put down some of the same names.
Also, consider using a shortened version of your son's name like Lee, etc.
Congrats on the baby, BTW!

Phonetic spelling is truly awful. Can you really deal with Jain, Jaikub, and Angeleq etc.?
I warn you truly that your unfortunate offspring will never have as many friends because no one will remember their names.
What's so wrong with your name, your Mum's name your Dad's name or your partner's name. Are you so ashamed of your genealogy . Or go the whole hog and call a boy a DC3 or a girl "Never Say Never".
If you are a young mother remember that the brain only reaches maturity at about 25. Maybe you should give them temporary names 'till they get to school. Run names through a spell check and see what you come up with!
