Isn't that funny! I have 3 cats and they ALL love any kind of bag. The funniest thing is when you go to pick one up and there's a cat sleeping in it.

That's so cute !!

Cats love bags because:

For sleeping, they are dark and enclosed. It seems like a safe place for them. Little do they know that the thin plastic bag doesn't provide much protection from the other cat waiting to pounce on them :-)

For playing, the bag is loud and when they run into it, it moves with them a little. The rustle of the plastic bag seems to make cats crazy and always wanting more.

It's a cat thing, they all love to play in bags. I've never figured it out, but leave out a bag or a box, and in a few minutes it will be inhabited by a cat. Usually the smaller the bag or the box the better. It's as if it's a place to hide. Cats love to hide, and what is better than a bag. They can't see you, so even if their tail is sticking out they don't have the slightest idea that you can see them. They just love to find a place of their own to be alone.

Cats have a wonderful sense of fun and love small places. Have you ever torn the corner off a paper bag and scratched next to the hole? Cat's paw comes all the way out of the hole very fast. Fun! Good cheap fun and when it gets too worn out, you can just give her another one. I'd not let her have the plastic and make sure the paper bags don't have any handles on them. Choking hazard.

Mine will play with any kind of bag at any time. Plastic at 4am.that would be Skeeter scooting around with his front half on the bag and his back legs going like a propeller. He also enjoys the tin foil that I put on my leather furniture to keep him off. He just rolls up and hides in it. Loves anything that makes noise, I guess. My older cat hates all this noise and will attack Skeet for waking him up. He's such a pseudo daddy cat. Hopefully both of our cats get over their fascination of paper and plastic.

It's that 'crinckly' sound they make - cats like anything that makes certain sounds - plus certain things smell right, especially if another cat has 'scented' it previously - do you have more than one cat or do your belongings come into contact with other animals or even people for that matter?

They also like to hide in them - it makes them feel secure - and it's also a good place to mount an ambush on another cat or even your legs - have you had your ankles assaulted yet?

It's all about the pheromones!

cats are very curious and playful animals that tend to attack everything that moves.....it is just there nature. Sometimes my cat waits until i move my feet in the morning-I am unaware that my cat is there-and then he bites and scratches my feet.

They like the sound, and they love to hide. They think they are sneaky! I know, my cat does the same. I could drop a piece of gum wrapper on the ground and she will go sit on it!

I think that they like the noises. Some like to get into them, cats like small spaces at times.( as long as they can move about freely )
