If yo have any consignment shops in your area check them out you may have alterations to be done but you would need those on a brand new one anyways, also check your local bargain finders and such. You may even want to search on ebay. Do look in your bridal shoppes because my wife found one for around six hundred dollars but it look like 2000 dollar dress. Sometimes shops will drop prices on certain dresses they do not see moving. Remember the simple ones can be just as elegant One other tip try to find one that the train is detachable I think this may be a norm but you never know.

Congrats and Best Wishes remember you only wear it once so if you can't afford something huge don't feel bad.

God Bless.

It depends on where you go - but WOW you can find lots of great dresses at the Salvation Army store. Last time I was there I saw like 10 gorgeous wedding dresses in various sizes - all with beautiful beading. You can find a treasure in a second hand shop but it will take more time to find than going to a dress shop. David's Bridal sometimes has closeout dresses but they usually have generally reasonable prices.

Alfred Angelo is a designer that has affordable dresses. Check out their website at www.alfredangelo.com. I wouldn't go to David's Bridal unless they're having a $99 sale. Remember that ANY dress you get from David's Bridal is "off the rack", and I think $600 is a ridiculous price for an "off the rack" dress.

And this part is true with everything in life: You get what you pay for. I'm not saying you need to splurge in order to get any quality, but remember that you cannot pay bottom dollar and expect top quality.

David's Bridal!!

Or visit a low rent district in your county and look for shops with clothes in them, there is bound to be a wedding shop there.

I am in Southern California and the low rent district nearby is in Long Beach.

By cheap, I hope you mean for $200 or less, because that's what its going to cost if you want unused.

Visit craigslist or your local paper for ads for used wedding dresses that range from $50 to $75 usually.

It also depends on your size too. If your a Plus Sized lady, then it might cost a little extra.

I don't know about either of these places
But most bridal salons can get your dream dress made in a cheaper fabric & lace thus cutting the cost drasticly. You can get by with satin rather then pure silk. I've never heard at a wedding" Gee the bride was gorgeous but did you FEEL the fabric?!"

Please don't buy one used. This is your wedding day for heaven's sake....it sacred and your dress should be worn ONLY by you. Besides, you will need a proper fit and most bridal stores do alterations at no additonal charge. Check out David's Bridal, if you have one in your area. They're always advertising gowns for $99 or if you don't want a wedding gown just for for a formal ivory/white dress instead. Right there will save you a ton of money.

YOU'LL LOVE DAVID'S BRIDAL. Every person I known that got married got a cheap dress from there and looked damn good. It's not about the dress it is about the person wearing it. You can wear a 10,000 dollar dress and look like ****. Your confidence will have power.

Ebay it up sister!

Seriously, I just found the dress I want on there for 1/3 the original price...and that's with it being custom made to fit me perfectly!

Seriously, I can't think of a cheaper way to go than ebay.

Where are you at? I know of a place in the bay area that sells sample dresses uber-cheap. Like, designer dresses... my dress was orginally $3000 and i seriously paid like 2% of that.

David's Bridal they have very reasonable prices, for the bride, and all her bridesmaids, from head to toe, if you have one near you, they are all over the place, check it out....I am sure you won't be disappointed...I got my dress and my bridesmaids there, it was really cheap but elegant, or simple but nice....it has something for everyone that is for sure. Good Luck and congratulations. Best Wishes.
