Do air force recruiters get paid or benefit in some way for enlisting new recruits?

The reason I ask is because i spoke to two different guys. One guy was an idiot who kept trying to pressure me into joining that very day and another guy I spoke to a few weeks later was much cooler and actually answered my questions honestly and completely and even said that he had a few recruits who had a problem with the same first recruiter I didn't like. So the idiot recruiters is closer to my house and the cool recruiter is somewhat further from my house.

If the recruiters don't get any sort of benefit from enlisting me, then i'll just join at the idiots office. If the recruiters get some sort of benefit or comissions from enlisting me, then i'll drive the extra distance to the nicer guy who took the time to answer questions and stuff. So back to my question?

They do not receive any pay benefits as the US military would be the last organization to work on a commission basis. They do however have goals that they must reach for which they receive points for. They also receive more points on the recruitee's completion of bootcamp. (To give them incentive not to recruit just anybody.) These accumulated bonus points do go towards promotion which for a recruiter is almost guarenteed anyways.

My advice, go see the farther guy if you like him better but milk him for all you can as this will be the only time you will have the advantage over the military. Tell him to pick you up around dinner time so he can use his own gas money and hopefully take you out to dinner.

Good luck in the Air Force, had I had the chance to do it again I would've joined them. Out of all the forces they know how to treat their people the best, not only do they have the best gyms, but the best "scenery" inside if you catch my drift.

There may be some sort of bonus at some point, but the main incentive to a recruiter is the performance rating, which leads to promotions.

Recruiting duty is considered an elite duty, and is a very good career assignment. Recruiters come from all career fields.

I'd go to the nicer guy just on principle. Remember that all recruiters are salesmen and there are many ways to make a sale. When you buy a pair of shoes what sort of questions do you ask the shoe salesman, and what drives you out of one shoe store and into another?

Same criterion applies for recruiters, regardless of service. I'm an old Air Force guy and I have really liked the Marine recruiters I've met. They were very good people.

No. Recruiters get no extra money for putting anyone in. The Previous answers were wrong as well. Air Force members test for rank and the amount of people they put in has no bearing on promotion. You guys should do your homework. I recommend going to the recruiter you feel more comfortable with. You will have a better experiance and know what he tells you is fact. Check out about.com, they have some great information. Good luck

I could be wrong, but I believe it doesnt matter what recruiter u go to. The recruiter u talked to first is gonna get the quota cause u live in his region and spoke with him. It's looked down upon for another recruiter to even speak to a recruit out of his region.
