The Norwegian Elkhound is on the small end of medium. The Rhodesian Ridgeback is a larger but still medium dog. Both are cute, normally very good with children,and all around great pets. The beagle is a great dog, but you have to really keep it leashed and fenced. They will see a bird fly by and chase it into the next county if they get loose. They flat out love to run, will even chase clouds if they don't see a bird or squirrel or cat to chase.

Adopt a dog in need of a loving home. The Dog Pounds, Humane Societies and SPCA'S always have a huge selection of dogs in need of good homes, Large dogs, medium, small, long fur, short fur, puppies, older dogs, pure breeds and mixed breeds, but regardless they all need homes or could be put to sllep :<( Help save a pets life by adopting. I have a Beagle, she's great, but as with any hound their nose gets them into lots of trouble. Dalmatians are very loyal, but can be very protective of you, and at times aggressive. Lab's are great dogs and very smart if you spend time with them. They do tend to be on the large size rather than medium, but not too big to handle.... Oh and puggles are beagles and Pug's mixed, not beagles and poodles.

Labradors are wonderful. And they are very cute!! I think that mutts can be awesome dogs too. Check your local shelter and rescue groups. Petfinder.com can help you locate those nearest to you. I've fallen in love with a certain dog in a local shelter and I grew up showing dogs. Wish I could have him....

Just go to your local animal control/dog pound and pick one out for yourself...they are all so cute and so in need of a friend-many are on death row and they are innocent!!!

I will ALWAYS love dobermans.
Contrary to popular belief they are not all mean!
If you decide to buy one from a breeder they are the most intelligent and resourceful animals I have ever seen.
Try the SPCA first please! Many lovable dogs are there waiting for a good home!!

yes i agree with what the last person wrote. go to your local animal shelters, be it the SPCA or other animal rescue groups, and you will totally find a dog that you will fall in love with.
