So far I've removed 8 eggs, 1 every 2nd day as suggested by someone. It doesn't work as the mother just keeps on laying eggs. If I shake the eggs really hard and put them back again, won't it start to smell or break easier? If I do this, can I keep the nesting box with shaken eggs for another 2 weeks? So the eggs won't rot or start to smell when they are shaken? I feel so cruel to do this, but I can't another clutch. I feel sorry for the parents.

Shaking the eggs is not a reliable way to keep them from developing. Boil them and then return them if you cannot find wood or plastic ones.

When she gives up the eggs, then REMOVE THE BOX!!! By keeping it there you are saying that it is okay to breed!

Do not remove the eggs until then!! She will continue to lay to replace them as you have seen.

there are woden eggs you can put in place of the eggs at the pet store. I would be worried about the calcium level in the laying bird too. seperate the birds for a while possibly 2 weeks at most Keeping them within eyesight of each othe though so thye dont start to squalk in lost of each other.

NO. Won't smell unless cracked, and they don't rot quickly unless it's above 80 degrees F. Idle eggs will keep for weeks.
