I have had insomnia for the past week, I close my eyes but am unable to fall into a deep sleep,I toss and turn and look at the clock every hour. I don't think I have had REM sleep for awhile. I am feeling very weird during daytime hours, confusion, disorientation, anxiety, moodiness. I just feel very off. My work performance is sliding as well. I really need a good nights sleep or I don't think I can mentally function one more day like this, I feel like I'm losing my mind!! Any suggestions on curing this, pls only serious anwers!!

When I'm having trouble getting to sleep I take a couple Benedryl (same stuff as Tylenol PM without the Tylenol in it). If I need to keep my self asleep through the night I take a Unisom for a full night of sleep. (ONE is PLENTY!). Have never taken them both together though.
If you have any mental or emotional issues that may be causing this disruption, you may want to address them.

Sleep deprivation is dangerous and it CAN make you feel like you're losing it. You need to see a doctor. He will probably give you a sleeping pill type of thing even if only for a short time because you need it to get some sleep NOW! See the doc ASAP!

Anytime I have trouble sleeping all I have to do is pick up a book with a little book light. Read a while and them I'm back off to sleep. Keep the book at bedside so you don't have to go far in the event you wake up frequently. Works for me.
