Was in a hurry yesterday didnt noticed that the bacon i bought from the grocery is unflavored. Do you guys know any good recipe for a marinate? Just the simple ones. Thanks!

tried cooking a piece before i came to this conclusion that its unflavored. it just cut as a bacon and the way it was packed it looked like it was full of preservatives already! hehehehehhe! this is a virgin bacon i must say. i need good and simple ingredients for the marinate. who knows i might enjoy buying this virgin bacon.

salt and pepper........and believe it or not.... hot sauce. its delicious.

Do you mean NON-SMOKED as in Pancetta/Italian bacon? I've never heard of 'unflavored' bacon.

If you got Pancetta - no need to do anything, it's delicious and can be crisped up and put in a myriad of dishes, used, just like crumbled regular American bacon.

But if you are dealing with some sort of new bacon that is not being addressed here, you can season it up with some herbs and spices..... Cumin (gives it a smoky flavor), or Cayenne (spicy), cracked black pepper would also be a nice compliment.

I don't know what kind of bacon you have or what country you are in but in the US our bacon has great smoked flavor.

You can possibly soak it in soy sauce or citrus.
