Vicki...
I recommend professional help! You have permanently damaged the cuticle of your hair! The cuticle is the outer layer of a hair strand. The color lies under the cuticle. Think of the cuticle as shingles on a house...when you bleached your hair, the chemicals lifted the cuticle and removed the color molecules underneath. When you shampoo and rinse after, your cuticle smoothes down again, but not completely, which is why your hair feels dry, or frizzy after a chemical service. After conditioning a few times, the cuticle becomes closed again, and your hair will feel smooth.
When you add color, like when you went brown again, the chemicals opened the cuticle again and deposited color molecules into the shaft. Again, the cuticle of your hair strand does not close completely, leaving your hair feeling rough, and the color molecules that you deposited don't have other molecules to bond with, so you probably had fading.
THEN, you bleached again! So now your hair has been really damaged!! The cuticle of your hair strands would be blown way open! Depending on the extent of the damage, you may have to cut it off! But lets try all we can before it comes to that.
There are some treatments that you can do from home. First, try some deep conditioning treatments. You can buy professional products at Rite Aid, Walmart, JC Penney...try the Sleek line from Matrix. They have a full line of smoothing products. Shampoo hair, rinse, apply conditioner and don't rinse. Wrap your head in plastic wrap (the heat from your scalp will open cuticle and allow moisture in) walk around the house like that for a while...10-15 minutes....then rinse with cool water. Any time you rinse your hair, rinse in cool water. This closes and smoothes cuticle. K-Pak Conditioner by Joico has keratinized protein in it and works great for treatments! Do treatments like this twice a week for a while...
Avoid blow drying, flat irons, and curling irons as much as possible. Only use Professional Products!! These are the only ones that have the right pH level for you hair! (4.5-5.5)
After you get some health back in your locks, go get a multi-foil. You need an ash blonde color to counter act that gold but BEWARE...if you try this at home, you could end up with GREEN hair!! A Multi foil with 2 or 3 different colors will give your hair a more natural look and you can have some dimension with a nice ash blonde and some highlights!
In the meantime, you can use purple shampoo! Try a Sally's Beauty Supply store for shampoo called Shimmer Lights. It's actually purple shampoo that you can use every couple days to combat brassy tones.

I am going to tell you now that you should not bleach it anymore. I have made this mistake so many times. But you should really see about going to a professional to get the damaged ends cut (the ends are probably too damaged to try to fix it) If you really can't find the money to go to a salon then have someone you know that is good at haircuts and have them cut off the damaged ends. As for the coloring , the best is to go to a salon but if there is absolutely no way to do that , then you should go and buy one of those clairol hair coloring removal kits , use that , then use vo5 hot oil and plenty of conditioner to get your hair back to it's normal state. It sounds like you have probably used more money trying to do your hair yourself because of the color not turning out right. Hopefully this will help. But you really should try and see someone who knows how to correct your haircoloring disaster. They really can do wonders to your hair. I learned that the hard way. Good Luck!!!!

Really you should go to a salon, or at least a beauty school if you can. Your hair probably needs professional help. If you can't afford it, try a reputable beauty supply place. They may be able to help you.
I would recommend using Infusium 23 leave in treatment on your hair. It saved some of my sister's hair when she screwed it up. Also, look for shampoos and conditioners for damaged hair - maybe try Pantene Restoratives.
BABY YOUR HAIR AS MUCH AS YOU CAN. Let it air dry whenever possible, skip the dryer. No hot rollers, no curling irons and DEFINITELY no straighteing irons.
And absolutely no more coloring until you get professional advice.

With every day pass, our country is getting into more and more trouble. The inflation, unemployment and falling value of dollar are the main concern for our Government but authorities are just sleeping, they don’t want to face the fact. Media is also involve in it, they are force to stop showing the real economic situation to the people. I start getting more concern about my future as well as my family after watching the response of our Government for the people that affected by hurricane Katrina.
According to recent studies made by World Bank, the coming crisis will be far worse than initially predicted. So if you're already preparing for the crisis (or haven't started yet) make sure you watch this video at http://www.familysurvival.tv and discover the 4 BIG issues you'll have to deal with when the crisis hits, and how to solve them fast (before the disaster strikes your town!) without spending $1,000s on overrated items and useless survival books.

First of all you need to repair before you can do any additional colours.
Use a heavy conditioner for awhile, and at least once a week, wrap your still conditioner soaked head in a very warm towl (straight from the dryer) for at least an hour before rinsing it out. Then, i would just leave it, if you can, for awhile. You may have to get a bunch of inches cut off before you can really do anything. Go into a nice salon and ask for advice. They will give it to your for nothing. They will expect you will be back to them, but don't worry about it.
Good Luck!

First off, I'd let your hair rest. Drastic coloring will only deteriorate your hair condition further. Invest in a good wig if you can't find a good stylist. Or, just rock your brassy-punk look by changing your make-up to match it (you could be inspired by the fabulous Debbie Harris in her Blondie days.)
Any drastic coloring might get your hair back to an ok color, but color is nothing if your hair quality is irreversibly crappy. Save up your money, they get a hot oil treatment or whatever a quality stylist advises to improve your hair quality (not to make it look better, just to make it healthier.)

Don't use any more harsh products with peroxide in your hair. Developers contain varying levels of peroxide.
Try to find a good deep conditioner to shape up your hair. Check into the Joico products, bc they are supposed to be very good.

You really should shave it all off and start over with healthy hair. You might even enjoy being bald!
