I have been stressed lately with uni, and i have pulled allnighters for a week-straight on, with tiny bits of sleep here & there.. The fifth day with no sleep, i realized i got this really sore tongue one morning, and it had these extremely tiny zit looking stuff on both sides of my tongue. This has never happend to me before! It kind of feels like i burned my tongue drinking hot coffee..but not quite. The tip of my tongue feels quite sore as well, but im not extremely sore either, just little uncomfortable. I can eat as well, just feels a little wierd. Could this be stress related etc?? Any suggestions to what this may be...? Thanks..

PS. I have only been sexually active with one person for 4years and vice versa..

Here you go
Got a Bumpy Tongue?
Fri, 12/22/2006 - 2:00am by FitSugar

Have you ever noticed a really sensitive part on your tongue, and when you look in the mirror, there's a little bump?

I call them "enlarged taste buds." I've also heard them called "tongue zits," "lie bumps," "tongue blisters," and "inflamed taste buds."

They are extremely common, and they can happen when there is trauma to your little tongue. Eating spicy, acidic, hot, or hard foods can cause local inflammation. Allergies and biting your tongue can also irritate your taste buds.

The inflammation looks like a tiny white or red bump. It's different than a canker sore, because those are usually found on the inside walls of your mouth, and the sores are generally bigger, more irritated, and open.

If your tongue isn't back to normal in 7-10 days, you should definitely go see your doctor to get it checked out.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.
Luckly there is a cure for herpes https://tr.im/68d90

Check with your doctor but it is most likely a strain of herpes virus. One out of every four people have it. It is not necessarily sexually transmitted and, for oral herpes, not usually sexually transmitted. You shared a drink in 5th grade with some one who had it. You kissed someone who had it. You shared lip gloss with someone who had it. It's easy to transmit and common enough that it's no big deal.

You said you've been under stress. This will cause a flare up. There's no cure but learning to deal with stress better can help. There are medications that can reduce the length of flare ups or eliminate them altogether. Talk to your doc.

There are two types of herpes virus. Herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) tends to like the mouth area. In general it shows as very small sores. HSV-2 tends to like the genitals and usually has bigger sores. That said both can settle in either area or any other part of the body where it is introduced through broken skin. I remember reading about a wrestler who got it through a cut on his forehead. The size of the sores can also be dependant on your immune system's ability to deal with it.

If it is herpes please feel free to be quite happy that you aren't getting big, scabby sores on your lip. They'd hurt as much but be visible to everyone.

Also, if it is herpes don't let it make you feel "dirty" or bad. Just as 1 in 4 people have herpes 1 in 4 people also are carriers for strep and mono. You would be no different than anyone who has ever had strep throat or mononucleosis.

No matter what check with your doctor. He or she will be able to do tests to determine the cause and treat it. It may well turn out you just have an allergy to some food, or something.

hey, that happened to me several years ago, during a stressful time. I thought it may have been sexually related, but it cleared up on its own and ive never noticed it since, so it didnt cause any problems, Ive also heard that it could be your tastebuds acting up for some reason. I wouldnt worry too much about it, that would just be more stress, so if you cant stand it maybe you should go see your doctor or dentist, and get a professional diagnosis specifically for you.

Sounds like a vitamin A and D deficiency, as well as a low C.
You need sunshine, sleep and some good wholesome food. Go get some vitamin and mineral tablets from the nutrition center, and take better care of yourself, Best wishes

Get some vitamin c and have some orange juice. Sounds like you just haven't been eating right. Mouth things clear up very quickly when you start eating right and get some vites.

it may be malnutrition. if you haven't been eating properly and have also been stressed and overexerting yourself you get these sores on your tongue.

i've had them before, just get enough rest and eat healthy and they go away in a few days.
