Ok let me start by saying that I've been recreationally smoking marijuana for over 10 years.. mostly every other weekend or so. I can honestly say that I have never had a concern about it.... till last weekend.
I can probably count how many times I've done coke in my life on one hand...
Last weekend a friend of mine came over for a smoke, but I was out... I called another friend who was on his way with it. In the mean time, the friend that was with me brought out some coke and did a few lines, then invited me for some.. I figured what the heck.. and I did a couple of line too... feeling really good, my other friend showed up and we had a couple of bowls, then they left, but not after having another line of coke. I was feeling really really good and mellow... when suddenly I felt really weird. as though I was about to faint, and my heart started racing, and I had trouble breathing..

it was so bad that I couldn't stand up in fear that I would pass out... I did what I could to keep calm, but honestly it scared the sh!t out of me.. I didn't know whether I was about to have some kind of heart attack or just having a bad trip.. thank god it passed, but it took like an hour... an hour of hell. =(
Needless to say, I swore never to do coke ever again... just thinking about it gives me a bad feeling.
So does anybody know what happened? and what I should have done besides the obvious (calling 911), and would taking aspirin during something like that be a bad idea?

Cocaine is a stimulant buddy... you do not feel mellow when you are doing cocaine. People that do coke generally will not sleep, eat, or sit still. It speeds up your bodily functions and makes you wide awake. The fainting feeling was due to a spike in your blood pressure... your heart was probably beating 5 times as fast as it normally would and your body felt like it needed to cool itself off. Marijuana also speeds up your heart.. the combination of the two probably pushed your body to its' limits.
If you feel mellow after doing cocaine... it was probably baking soda you put up your nose..... you cannot OD on Cocaine and walk away.... and OD would constitute a heart attack and hospitalization/death.

I have never done a lot with drugs really, I used to smoke some pot a couple years back, but I still hang out with a lot of people that do. The first time my friend tried coke he had already been smoking, I'm not sure on all the specifics but it sounds like he experienced what you described witht he heart racing and such. I do not know the specifics, but my guess would be that marijuana and coke simply do not mix. I know that sounds obvious, and I don't know anything more. I would say it definitely comes from doing them both at the same time though. and an OD might be possible, but I do not know your tolerances as well as you do.

Hi there, As the other poster mentioned, you might have gotten some bad stuff laced with something else. That's about all I can think of, as those are not reactions that marijuana can cause. If you are feeling better now, I doubt it was anything else (i.e. a serious illness, as those are symptoms of some pretty serious illnesses that have nothing to do with marijuana. ) . Get your marijauana from another source.

I doubt it was an allergy or something, but you may done a little too much coke.
Based on your symptoms, it sounds like you or your friend was sold a bad/"laced" batch of coke or weed. A lot of times people will cut coke, heroin, meth, or weed with other drugs or bad chemicals to maximise profits or sell low-grade stuff as premium.
I would suggest trying *small* amounts of both (if they're still in your stash) and seeing if the problem persists. If so, throw it out and be sure not to buy from the dealer again.
Good luck,
Joe

Aspirin would not have been a good idea. You should not do any drugs or pot at all in the future. You are killing your brain cells and taking a huge risk by smoking and doing drugs. Granted you have sworn off coke but cut the pot too as you don't know what could be laced in your pot unless you grow it yourself. Anytime you have a severe reaction you need to go to the ER even if it is illegal drugs. Your life is at stake.

the EXACT same thing happened to me in 1995 while smoking pot...You must STOP smoking pot for good....I have had those horrific feelings for over 12 years now....I have to take medications EVERYDAY to keep them at a minimum....I was seen by a Dr. at the Cleveland Clinic and he told me that the marijuana had damaged my fight or flight mechanisms, which are controlled by hormones and other areas in the brain. He told me that I have Panic Disorder and I will probably never completely recover. Please stop now before it stays with you like it did me.......take care
