the area isnt even red and theres no puss or blood coming out. It just really hurts, i cant sleep on my side without my ears hurting. Also the piecing is on the upper part of the ear lobe, where theres a bit of cartalidge. Is there any way to stop the pain? Is this normal?

Oh hunny, that piercing will probably hurt for a while. I got my ears pierced in November.. it's almost April and they STILL hurt, and it wasn't even cartilage. I've also gotten my cartilage pierced and eventually took it out from the pain. Perhaps you're allergic to nickel in the earring? Check for signs of infection after a week or so, make sure you clean the area, and I would say minimum the area will probably hurt for 6 months. That's usually the average time it takes to heal -- and considering it's not healing, just creating healing around the hole -- it'll take some time.

I did the same thing and I tried to pierce it three times, each time it never stopped hurting, so I would give up ,and then the hole would heal over.Cartilage must take longer to heal,
seems more painful, try to get a hoop and see if that helps,
that 's if you have a stud now,Good luck...Take Advil or something for pain.

Keep checking for redness and infection (puss). Use the cleaning product they gave you often. Ask your Dr. what pain killer would help most in the over the counter choices.

Yeah it takes several weeks for your ears to stop hurting. Take Tylenol or call the place you got them pierced.
