Some believe that atheism is just pride, rebellion, hurt, fear, and self-delusion. Could you prove that atheists really do not believe in God?

Atheism is simple symantics: A (not) + theism (dumb).

Sorry about the mocking, but it theism is easily disproved with simple logic:

If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.

In other words, if we are so complicated that a God had to create us, then isn't the creation of a god that much more complicated? This is basic logic!

There are Atheists (as many here are), therefore Atheism is real. The next time your God submits an Answer, you can claim that your theism is real.

I just took a poll and the first person I asked (me) admitted to being an Atheist. Since, in this case, I only need one example that someone does not believe that imaginary supreme beings are real in order to disprove the null hypothesis that Atheism does not exist, my job is done.

PS - I just replicated my experiment and got the same result. I love science.

And, the people who created the mythological Christian God were illiterate goat herders who thought the earth was flat with air above and water below, and who didn’t even know that light had a speed and that it might be a significant variable in explaining important aspects of the physical universe. So, what’s your point?

pride, rebellion, hurt, fear, and self-delusion,foolishness, etc.
these are all aspects of any belief system. if you believe in god , it exists as a thought in your mind, that doesnt mean it exists for everyone, just like if god does not exist in your mind he may or may not for everyone. i dont believe in Mithra yet some do, does Mithra exist? not to me but to those who worship Mithra, it does. you can apply that logic to anything.

also as not to offend you , if youre going to ask a question of atheists or on atheism, you should not accuse them of being foolish, or under self-delusion...they or anyone that believes anything different than what you say could say the same as you. snide remarks to someones personal belief is not warranted.

also, im not an atheist. im an agnostic

Proof only exists in formal mathematics. There is no "proof" of anything in the real world.

Granted, some atheists say they demand "proof", but when they say this they really mean they want to see objective evidence.

There is quite a bit of good objective evidence of atheism, just as there is good objective evidence for the existence of theism.

There is no objective evidence that the Bible is true. There is good objective evidence that the Bible is myth. These two statements are the core definition of my atheism, and many other people who claim to be atheists agree with these statements, and make statements of their own that I agree with. This is the objective evidence for the existence of atheism.

It doesn't take proof for somebody to have an opinion. Atheism is just a point of view. I wouldn't be dumb enough to ask you to prove that you do believe in god...I believe you...I just don't think that your opinion is right. This is a silly question, and it's even sillier because it's been asked before. Look it up...

Christians, could you prove that Christianity exists?

Some believe that christianity is just ignorance, arrogance, fear, brainwashing, insanity and self-delusion. Could you prove that christians really do believe in God?

Oh, I forgot to add disrespectful and intolerant to the above list....

I am not atheist, but I am aware that atheism exists...there is no question there. My question to you is, If you are confident in your own faith in God, then what does it matter to you if an atheist can prove their own non belief to you?.....or is this your attempt at "saving" those who do not share your fear of God? If so, you may want to find another tactic, it's quite pompous.

Yes.

1.) Ask a Buddhist about God.

Or, for a more direct approach...

2.) Ask an atheist about God. After he/she gets through their prepared ranting and raving about the perfection of science and the lack of proof of any higher beings, then maybe not. If he/she asks, "who?" You're in business.

What the heck are you talking about? Atheism itself is the belief in no God. Pride, rebellion, hurt, fear, delusion, etc are mere attributes that may or may not be attached with their religion, but it is not an actual part of the religion itself.

I can prove that it exists....Atheism is a state of mind, not a religion. If there is but one Atheist, then there is Atheism.
