Usually when my dog gets sick, it lasts for only a day or two...She's usuallu just tired, and a bath can make her feel better. Lately, she's been tired all the time and she keeps sleeping. She eats her food, goes to sleep, wakes up, eats, goes back to sleep. This cycle has been going on for about a week now, and I'm worried. First I thought that she was just really sleepy because she was barking at a mouse earlier that week, but now she's just sleeping all the time. She's 5 years old and turing six in September. I want to know what's wrong with her...IS SHE GOING TO DIE???

*She seems to be avoiding me. When I call her or follow her, she runs away and hides in her bed. Is she sick because it's really windy and cold? What's wrong.

She's eating, I haven't been feeding her all those foods, and I try to spend time with her, but she just bites me. There's no one new either...Usually, when my mom & dad play with her, she gets EXTREMELY happy, but now, she doesn't even care.

Is it possible that she caught the mouse and got some disease from it?

I'm never harsh to my dog. I always talk to her/play with her as if she was a person. ACTUALLY, I just remembered that before she got sick, she would always whimper late at night at the backyard gate and start 'crying'. I told her to stop, I let her come into the house. But the next day, it would always happen again. Maybe she's just lonely, because when I call her to play with her (while she's 'crying'), she gets really happy.

***Ever since she started sleeping all day, she stopped whimpering at night.

* SHE HAS WHIMPERED COUNTLESS TIMES BEFORE (usually during the spring/summer at night every year). I dunno why.

Did you check the dog food recalls? Do you feed her canned dog food? Take her to the vet as soon as possible.......
Make time, don't wait!! (also
the mouse could have been diseased and infected her with something--if so take care being
around her--wear both gloves
and something over your mouth!)

Hi ring up your vet for some advice it will cost you nothing, if she was sick she wouldnt eat her food but maybe there is a problem with her , also make sure you dont feed her onion, chocolate or garlic it is toxic to there bodies and makes them depressed which your dog sounds a little depressed have you tried spending some quality time with her or has there been anything different lately she could be jealous of like a new pet or a different person being around, i hope she gets better , good luck

I don't know what kind of dog you have, but we have several small dogs. What we have discovered is our dog is in pain of some sort. We have had dogs with bad teeth or arthritis and they sleep and avoid us. Usually it is easily fixed.

Take the dog to a vet you have confidence in and see if there is a problem. Keep in mind dogs have problems like people do but they cannot tell us about it.

Good luck.

well, it all depends on her age. if she's older, it might just be that she's getting older and lazier, but if she's a puppy, i would take her to the vet. she might have eaten something or caught some type of sickness.
