i just bought a new control and cant find the learn code button anywhere!!! is it supposed to be on the powerhead, the receiver... WHERE? i heard that it might be outside... near a "floppy" antennae... or in a 6 x 2 black box.... does anybody know where it may be?

If it has a learn button, it's located near where the control wires are attached. Look carefully, as it's rather small and recessed. The antennae is simply a piece of wire that hangs out. Make sure you have the right remote for the opener. If it's an old unit, it may have "dip" switches on it.

I think you'll find it on the back of the box, where the wires and garage door light and the antenna wire are located, the side facing away from your garage door door. It's a red button. Gotta get up your ladder or have a long pole so you can press the button at the right time during the coding procedure.
